TCMach's Build Thread

I imagine fully loaded I'll be between level to an inch higher. Usually when I go camping or on a trip 4wheeling I have buddies who come and we split the gear so I'm not sure if I'll be as heavy as some of you guys who stuff the back totally full.
861s would be the next choice if these don't hold up to the weight obviously. I know you and Ameining run them and they look pretty stout.

Hey man, saw your truck on campus the other day. That thing looks even better in person!

Thanks man! Its pretty dirty right now, but that's how I like it haha. I sent you a PM with my number so shoot me a text sometime and we can try and go wheeling. Me and FR4R are planning on heading out sometime soon I'm sure you could tag along!

Got a CB

I'm heading out wheeling tomorow and some of the guys have CB radios. Sounded like a good excuse to get one! So I went to a shop (CB Shop & More, its a great place off of I25) and picked up a Uniden Pro 510xl. Put it in the ashtray and I love the look.

Nope. Super simple. Power wire, ground wire, cable to the antenna. Only thing that you can't do (unless you have the meter) is tuning the antenna to your truck. The shop i took it to did it for me and it took like 10 mins.

Funny you should mention that. I was just about to do an update on my truck haha! As was posted earlier in this build I acquired a set of 9 wrap coils a couple months back. Well for Christmas Santa brought me a set of Eibach/Toytec 112620 coils to stick on the front. Those are both sittin in the garage waiting to be put on in the next week or so. Santa also brought me a 12" Kicker CVR so me and my buddy decided it was time to go at our cargo box builds! I dont have that many pictures currently but I'm doing more work on it today (the 28th which is coincidentally my birthday :happy bda ) but here are the ones I have.

Christmas cheer anybody?

After many cuts

This box sits on the driver side and will be used for tools and recovery equipment etc. The other box willl house the sub and amp. Not quite looking forward to the other box as it will have to have some funky angles and will be sealed for acoustic reasons. Oh well you know what they say, measure once cut twice......wait :bash:

First Box Done! sorta

Well I finished the first box, except for carpeting. But who knows when I'll get carpet haha. I'm in the process now of building the second box which will house my sub and amp. I apologize in advance for the blurry pictures. They were taken when I finished the box last night at who knows what hour in the morning.

We share the same birthday! That box is sick. Nice and clean and simple. Makes me wanna TRY and make one haha

Thanks man and happy belated birthday then! And to be honest it's pretty easy just gotta be patient with the wood and not expect the first cut to be perfect. I dunno how many times i took the board I fitted to the wheel hump back to the jigsaw haha!

Sub box coming together

So I've been working on the sub box and it should end up pretty sweet, we will have to see though. Here are some update pictures.

With my surgery coming up Friday I hope that I'll get it finished tomorrow and then with whatever time I have left will be spent running wires. Anybody know a good place to get carpet?

I've gone to local carpet places before and sometimes they have remnants that they either give away or sell you for dirt cheap. You may be able to snag something that is close.

Boxes look good. That is going to be one of my winter projects in the next month or so.

All you guys and your subs are making me jealous. I'm no 16 year old, or a wangster:uzi:, but I do like balanced sound! That box looks perfect for the nice kicker sub.

Thanks man. Can't wait to see what you come up with. Great idea on the carpet shops too, I would never have thought of that.

I'm hoping for a nice balanced sound. I debated going for two 12s but I think it would be a waste of space and way to much bass for what I want. Hopefully it all works out, I'm excited to see how it ends up with how I plan to mount the amp. Its a little different than what I've seen elsewhere.

9 Wraps In

Well I finally was up and nimble (enough) to get my 9 wraps in the rear end. I used a coil spring compressor to get them in so I wouldn't have to unbolt everything. I'm sitting at about 24" or 23.5" hub to fender in the rear and currently 21.5" in the front with my TRD Tundras on the 2nd perch. Tomorrow I'm getting my Toytec/Eibachs on and hopefully that will lift my front end up a bit. Can't wait! While I was crippled I ran some wires and did some soldering so my head unit is in (pocket missing for now) and the wires have been run for my sub. Oh and Weathertechs are on the way!

Pic of my knee when I was finally allowed to take the wrap off. Yay for scoping scars being small, there is one more on the other side though. My knees now have matching scars :thumb3:
