TCMach's Build Thread

Man, this is a mean looking Rig! You should post up a couple pics of your Mustang. I've been wanting a 2nd car for a while and a Mach is at the top of the list.

Very cool pics, jealous of the snow! Nice poser shots! :)
Man poser shots or no shots at all right? You guys not get much snow up there?

Thanks man! Technically my Mach is still for sale. We have had more buyers fall through, fail to get financing, or lowball the crap out of us than I'd like to remember. Unfortunately alot of my pics got deleted because my old laptop crashed but I'll see what I can come up with here in a bit (gotta go through the ol' back up hard drive). here is a video I took of the exhaust on her. here is a link to the Ad up on autotrader for her also.

Actually, we get snow, but not a whole lot at a time, like not more than a few inches a time lol.

And I can relate about the shots! Not sure if you saw or not but about a week back, I was itching to take some T4R shots so I logged my short drive to work lol. If you wasn't to see it, its the last post of my photolog (sig).

I did forget to mention, nice rig! I'm sure I've said it before but it's pretty awesome! :D

So this post has nothing to do with my T4R. Just going through old photos and found some shots of my old rides. Here are my old 1986 Chevy K10 and 2003 Mustang Mach 1.

Thanks man! There are so many ideas in the works right now I cant keep them all straight haha. I know that sometime during summer she will be on 35"s with a 2" body lift. Apart from that there may be a combination of: Aussie Locker, Viper Alarm/remote start system, more armor, WMW rack, etc. The list just goes on and on.

You should tackle the cargo boxes! They really aren't that hard to build. Especially the cargo one. You don't have to build in a floor or make it hug the curves of the trunk that well and it will still work perfectly fine. The sub box isn't quite as simple but definitely do-able. I actually have a pretty decent dimensional drawing of the sub box if your curious. That and my pictures should be enough to finish the sub box without to much heartache.

i think my favorite cargo box is the one that has the two side compartments like yours and then they build a removable shelf the hight of a full size spare tire and put the tire under it. it was pretty sweet but i cant remember who did it. seeing how my dad has build several houses from basically scratch, im sure that this would be a saturday project! :becky:

That was BigRogers I'm pretty sure. I built mine loosely on his because BFAD's box was too thin for what I wanted. And yea with that much experience you should be totally fine.

Ive referenced this thread many many times in my decision to purchase a Hybrid CBI, not sure how i never commented in here! ANyway, you've got a great build going, i know i am going to need new rear coils after i put on the bumper. Any idea how your 9wraps compare to OME 861s?

Glad I could help out! Thanks for the compliment, I love this truck to death and I cant wait for the summer so I can put some more money into her! As far as the rear coils I haven't had any experience with the 861s. I know alot of people run them. BFAD swapped to them from 7.5 wraps I believe. He has a rear CBI too so he may provide a little more insight. Ameining also swapped to 861s from 7.5 or 8 wraps.
Personally I don't have any problems with the 9 wraps. I dont think they ride too soft or dont feel solid as some say. They handle all the weight I can throw at them without sagging down. Plus they flex like crazy offroad! Oh and I got mine for 70 bucks. Cant beat that!

Summer Fun?

Well before I moved back to OK for the summer I went an ran sevenmile creek again with my parents and a buddy. It actually lived up to its name this time. Got water halfway up the tires on the creek crossings. Scared the crap out of my parents . But afterwards my steering rack was pissed. Its clunking all over the place. So I did some looking and the rack guide looked like a likely cause. My steering was pretty sloppy and I had some vibes anyway so it seemed like it was time to do it. I'll be tackling that this weekend along with my tranny cooler and some ARB trimming.

Looking forward to the trimmed up ARB, really improves the looks to me. And hell, who doesn't like more ground clearance?!

Agreed. It's going to start slow but I'm sure ill chop more soon. For now I'm trimming the sides. One of them actually rubs my tires haha. May do the front too depending on how off it looks with just the sides.

Can anybody comment on structural integrity? I feel like the bottom lip adds something to the bumper. And while I could just weld in a new piece in the back, I would prefer to be sure I need it first

I'm pretty sure BFAD trimmed both sides and the center on his, the bottoms may add a bit of extra strength but based on the design and ARB design philosophy so to speak, i wouldnt doubt if it was there just to be more compatible with the back or front of car in an accident, to keep from being much much higher than the crush zones on a smaller vehicle.

Well that may be next then. Another slight update, I was going through the garage and found my stock panhard bar. Its in surprisingly rust free and I'm thinking new upper links. Time to get out the chop saw and welder

Well the tranny cooler turned into an ordeal. Couldn't get the right sized line to fit (regular 5/16 tranny line would NOT go on no matter what I tried) so I had to order some. So I'm sitting there like while I'm ordering stuff I should check my plugs and see what condition they are in. And then this happened.

IMG_3412.jpg

:bash:
Oh well. I added NGK plug wires to the list. Finally pull the plug out and its a single ground NGK. That blew my mind considering my timing cover has a stick that says dual ground plug only. Add spark plugs to the list.

While my truck is out of commission with no plug wires or tranny cooler my buddy came over and we decided to re-index his torsion bars as they were sagging. Neither of us had ever re-indexed a tbar and all the forum posts we saw said do 2-3 splines. We didn't realize that was 2-3 splines on a stock torsion bar. We put his SwayAWay bars on 3 splines and let it off the jack and this is what we saw

IMG_3406.jpg

Sitting at 42" ground to fender well and about 7" of spring lift. Needless to say his CVs were not happy

IMG_3408.JPG

We ended up doing 1 spline and his truck finally sits level....for now...new fabtech rear shackles are on their way. :bravo:

Fast forward to yesterday and I finally get all my parts in. Replace the plugs and wires, route the tranny cooler, new steering rack guide, and trim my ARB. The biggest surprise of the night was that we finished before dark! Onto the pics

Somehow all my pictures turned out like garbage so more pics of the bumper and plug wires will be coming soon! Oh and my gas tank skid is soon to be on its way :boink:

That's awesome.. I need to look into this. My stock tank skid has seen better days. Either that or finally find some motivation to do the f150 tank swap. Hell, my fuel gauge doesn't work anyways lol. Good work on the ARB bumper, I want to see more pics of it.

NateMob it's all 3/16" steel. Got cutouts for draining water. Another one where we usually have driveshaft/gas tank interference. The mounting points are also 3/16" steel if your curious. They aren't on the website so just email Darren at [email protected] and he will set you up.
ARKRWLR do the F150 swap if you don't have a gas gauge already. I would but mine works currently. My stock tank skid probably isn't as bad as yours but its still beat up and rusted. I guess it's good I got one because I trashed mine on a rock last weekend haha. Ill get more pics of the ARB this weekend when I finally clean it. The trim is subtle but it I think it really helps with the look and the clearance.
