The answer from Japan

sharivan & others,
Would it be possible to get a copy of the entire electrical manual (preferably in .pdf format) for the 4th generation Surf? This might give us some insight on how to rewire certain features on the 4Runner to match the Surf.

Oh!
I had misunderstood it!!
I'm shameful very much.
Very very sorry,,,,
Don't feel "shameful" at all! Even mistakes are thought-prevoking. Plus, the information you provide is far more than we ever had before. I again thank both of you for your help.

Boy am I glad I asked this question. I figured you didn't have this feature because no-one in the US has been able to figure out how to do this. Can you also roll down all the windows with the remote? Many of the Lexus' here can do it by holding down the unlock button, I think. Is that how yours works?

This system allows you to approach the driver's side door and have it unlock automatically.

The second part number is an add on unit to the master controller that will allow an additional door to unlock as you approach it.

You must have the access card on your person or in your wallet. Its the size of a credit card.

Now, lets talk about the key (with fob on it) and the fact that the Surf rear window is UP AND DOWN!
You must keep us informed of all the details of your progress on either of these mods. I've also been wondering the same question you asked about the proximity system. That is what I guessed it did based on the pics but I couldn't find anyone that spoke Japanese to confirm my guess. I even posted links and pics asking members, but that was several months before we had any members from Japan. Here is one thread it was discussed in (to no solution): engine start button

sharivan,
Thanks for the attachment. That is just the type of wiring diagrams I am looking for. I will compare this to the T4R diagram. I understand you have alot of files so hopefully this is the right one.

Japan name "ESCUDE"(VITARA? SIDEKICK?)
It's one of famous SUV in Japan,
The full model change was undergone recently.

Three meter...Do you think?

I don't think I understand the question and the computer I am on is too slow to view the link. Sorry. Can you re-phrase the question? Thx.

I think the interior looks nice for a Suzuki. The guages look kinda like the 4runner and the vents look like the ones on the Ford and Lincoln Trucks.

sharivan,
The wiring diagram that you posted was great, it helped point me in the right direction as to the rear window roll-up feature. It looks like we need to add what is listed on your diagram as "I7". Could you possibly get a description of this part and the part number, along with the part number for the connector? Also could you post the power window diagrams to further help with the connections to this part?
On a side note could you also post the wiring diagram for the rear fog light, as i am trying to wire it up and haven't figured out the wiring to the stock switch.
Thanks alot you really helped us out!

Thanks for your help, but doing this modification dosen't really look like its worth it. We would probably have to replace all of our window switches and window motors because they are completely different. All of our window switches are wired back to the master (driver) switches while the Japan version is wired to the multiplex communication system, or Body ECU. If I were to undertake this I would need to know the part unmbers for "K3," "K2," "J5," "J4," "L3," and "L2". Which is probably only two connectors, one for the switch and one for the motor. And this is if only if I can get the switches in the US, which I would need part numbers for. I would also need to see the 'multiplex communication system" or body ECU wiring diagram.

I hate to ask because you have already done so much but could you send me the part number for the fog light switch "G59".

Thanks!
