Don't mind the turtle at the end but this garden was night and day easier with the duals than single case.
I've recently become fixated on the idea on selling my 4runner and building something nicer and more comfortable like a GX470, but watching that reminds me how fun it'd be to keep the 4runner and go with my original plan of going dual cases and dual lockers...

Too old and too high mileage for too much money around my area. It's an older platform than the 3rd gen 4runner and is also really underpowered. And don't shoot me for saying this, but I'd rather have IFS than a solid front axle. I have yet to reach the limits of my 3rd gen's IFS and this would still be my daily driver. Unless we're talking trailer rigs and really extreme stuff, solid front axles are very over rated IMO.
I agree. I have a fully built 3gen pickup SAS, air lockers, duals, 37s. I can run the same trail with my 3gen 4runner ifs with 1 rear locker. Plus my 4runner is a dd more comfortably
No way a single locked, single cased, IFS truck keeps up with a dual locked, dual cased, solid axle truck.
Been there and done both. Once you get into big rocks the IFS doesn't hang. The SA truck doesn't ride as nice or turn as precicely on the highway as a trade off.
IFS totally has a place though as a solid trail riding rig. You can run 80% of the trails a swapped rig can and have a great time. I can't stand the guys that say you have to swap in tons and 40's to wheel anything.
I would go to dual case way before solid axle swapping though. It's a complete game changer if you are 5 speed.

I may not make the tire size requirement though...
Anyone have problem running 4.7 up front with chain case? I run 4.7 in the rear of my crawler no problem. But inchworm doesn't recommend jw? Just thoughs
We did away with the tire size requirement and Just haven't foud a MOD to change the title yet, you you belong
4.7 in front of the stock chain chase is essentially the "Tacobox". It's pretty well proven to work.
The Inchworm recommendation has to do with running two gear driven cases.....you don't want the 4.7 in the front case in that instance.
I don't doubt you on that either. But inchworm post this on their site.
