TJM Snorkel for 5th Gen?

I’m pretty shocked to hear that it didn’t give you any issues. I researched heavily and decided against it because of the clogging with snow issue. I’m disappointed if I was mislead because I would have much rather went this route from a looks standpoint over any other option.

Just as ALLPRO4 said, I've had ZERO issues.
Yesterday we got 20 inches of snow, there was snow behind the intake grates and some on them; I never cleared it, but there was no effect on the engine performance at all and not a drop of water in the air-box.
I've read this thread before I got mine, and everything negative that has been said about it was by people that don't have the TJM. Everyone said it was made for the Prado and wouldn't fit. Its made for the 4runner and does fit. Everyone thinks that the windshield will somehow drive water and snow into the intake, but it just doesn't.
Look at the Safari and Dobinson they have giant funnels for intakes, the TJM just looks different than what people are use to and change freaks people out.

Same here never had a problem. Snow in the grates and didn't have any problem. Stop at a gas station to check if there's any water in the air-box to my surprise not one single drop or any moisture in the air box.

Wow. So darn good to hear real world feedback. This options just looks so much more tasteful and if it functions as well as everyone is reporting, the decision seems like a no-brainer.

Just curious if anyone left their fender liner off after installing this snorkel? Especially those running larger tires like 35's. I'm running 35's and recently installed a TJM snorkel but I'm not sure if i should leave the fender liner off or throw it back on for that little bit of extra hyrdolock prevention..

1) Has your positive opinion of the snorkel changed? 2)Would you purchase the TJM snorkel again? 3) Any negative issues with it after more use?

I'll be using mine in north western Montana, if I don't cancel my backorder.

The big reason I went the Dobinson’s route with the snorkel was because of the early reports of people needing to put a sock on the intake to avoid snow from accumulating. It seems like this became a conflicting report but I thought it would be easier to just flip a head around rather than mess with a sock and all the issues that come with that. This one looks waaaaay better.
