With respect to #5 above, what I'll address soon...
I wanted a distance reference for the rear view camera.
The bottom of the screen, the edge of the blue bucket, is about 2 feet from the bumper.
Found these in the garage. Bought them like two years back. Unlike the high quality Baja Designs lights installed earlier, these were like 15 bucks. Great reviews though.
Amazon.com: Nilight 2PCS 18W 1260lm Spot Driving Fog Light Off Road Led Lights Bar Mounting Bracket for SUV Boat 4" Jeep Lamp,2 years Warranty: Automotive
Not on my "to do" list above, but I decided to make these my rear-facing lights. I already have a switched power lead waiting between driver side B and C pillars. Should be a quick install...
Spent some time working on the wires, 14 AWG. With much of the wires for the Baja Designs lights not needed, I made use of the extra sheathing.
I looked at mounting the lights up high on the rack, but decided against doing so, for a few reasons. The Savage rear bumper has ample locations for such lights. I decided upon a bumper tube that has a 1.75" diameter, and got these:
Amazon.com: GS Power's Bracket Clamp | choice of 1/1.25/1.75/2 inch. Mount LED Light Bar, Safety Flag, Antenna onto Bar Tube Rack Roll Cage Bumper on Boat Truck ATV Can-Am Bike (2 pc): Automotive
Here's one installed.
And with the light's bracket.
Light mounted.
Plenty of clearance from the swing arm above...
Both installed.
Hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to make the connections. Looks like the nearest ground in the rear is behind the side panel, a little forward the taillights...
EDIT/ADD: Yes, here's that ground location...
