Toyota Remote Start

My dealer quoted me $700 at purchase and didn't even want me to buy it. Now I'm glad I didn't. I just didn't want a second key fob. Does anyone have a unit that can work the factory key fob functions also? I know they will open your doors but wondered if there were any issues with compatibility with the 2010 T4R.

I have the remote start that was installed at the port. It's not a seperate fob, but part of my key (hit lock twice then hold on third press to start, unlock to turn off) and I don't mind that it turns off when I open the door. I'm just going to start it up again so it's not really an issue. The 10 minute time limit is my issue.

my dealer said it was twice the normal cost on the Limited due to the keyless start feature and door sensing - claimed it was much more complicated than usual.

Does the SR5 have the same features and anyone get this story?

I had the OEM system installed in my Limited for $400. Also got the 36 mo., 100,000 miles extended warranty for $900. Finance guy started at $1400, I said no thanks. He said okay how about $900.

What a markup. I put a lot of work miles on my cars, so it's well worth it to me.
