As per my dealership Toyota is aware there is an issue in the suspension. Per the Engineer the TRD Pros get both sides on the front get replaced. The dealership called me this morning to schedule a replacement. :lock1:

Would you mind posting the Bulletin number if/when you get to see it?

I'd be curious to find out what they found out. Must have been difficult to find since the clunk has been going on since the production models have come out.

Thanks for letting us know!

I'll see what I can find out. Then post it up. It was a surprise phone call and I didn't think to ask.

Just got back from the dealership. To confirm, a service bulletin was issued last week. My new front shocks are being ordered. They didn't say what the issues was with the original shocks. No need for a bulletin number. Just tell your service rep that you heard online that Toyota issued a bulletin for the Pro.

BLKTRD4Runner did you have a case on file for the clunk before or did you just tell them about the service bulletin to get them replaced.

I did have a case on file. I mentioned the issue every time I went in for service. I have the same service tech handle all the service and he was familiar with the clunk. If you don't have a case file, I suggest just mention to them of a service bulletin regarding the clunk was issued.

Hmmm! I wonder what the dealer will say/do if the truck has lift on it. I have the clunk but have the Toytec TRD Lift installed. Hope they don't make me take off the lift before taking it in for service.

Heading out on a two week trip, so will find out when I get back.

Good to hear they found the cause, though.

Interesting, so many on here claiming that the Toytec TRD lift got rid of the clunk. Thanks for sharing.

As far as removing the lift, that will be almost impossible for me but I will try to swap the struts regardless if they are replacing them.

I've had the clunk since new in October 2014. The toytec lift did not eliminate the clunk, but it did seem to help a little. Less pronounced, and less frequent over the same routes traveled.

Zero chance you pull up into a Toyota service drive with any sort of lift and talk about clunking suspension that you'll get any help without going back to stock. That's the first thing they will point out.

Along with all of the rest of you, I've been working with Toyota Corporate down in SoCal since February-ish as well as with a local Field Tech Supervisor and there is now an official TSB for our clunking. (I'll provide the TSB number as soon as I have it)

If your clunking has been verified by a dealer and documented, then you can now make an appointment with them to have it fixed.

The TRD engineers have worked with Bilistein to develop a revised suspension kit and it has new part numbers, and yes, they are the part numbers seen earlier in this thread.

If you've bought a TRDP recently (within the last month or so) you will most likely already have the updated suspension in your vehicle, but poke your head underneath it to check your part numbers for the front struts against these which are the new part numbers PTR13-89160.

Mine goes in next week!

The TSB number is: T-SB-0054-16, issued June 2 2016
2015-2016, front shocks
Mine are on order.

My dealership's service dept said they have no info on that tsb number. I have not experienced the clunk or had any ticket opened with the service dept for it. But that shouldn't matter if there is a tsb right?
