Well I hope your insurance got you sorted out.
Holy sh!t...
"Est. Retail Value:$45,470 USD"
BS that seems crazy to me, front end damage and all the airbags have been deployed. That like $8000 or more in damage, how the hell is is worth that. That is literally msrp.
yooz so edumacated! For today's "Reading is Essential" class you both do realize that was just Copart's estimation of the price when new? If you scroll your eyes to the way far right, the bids are up to 10K.
What are the odds this will always happen from now on? :roadkill:
why yes turdtroll err turdpro, I did barely pass reading for dummies with your help. I also realized I could by it now for $17,900 too.: :biggrin1:
So mister accountant how do you realize an estimated retail value near msrp on a wrecked vehicle?
What is the point a having an estimated value when new when it will never be new again. I would assume one would use an estimators value when the vehicle has been repaired.
Is it especially smoggy in SLC today?
When you and stifler get done liking each other's posts, perhaps one of you should contact Copart and let them know you take real exception to the estimated retail value, and the bidders ought to be forewarned that they shouldn't expect to realize the full $45K price once they replace the bumper cover and windshield.
...Car theft is a big crime and they need to be responsive. Start with the guys Sgt. And go up as needed. I can assure you a Police Commander or Assistant Chief does not want to hear that their officers are not following up with crime victims.

My 2015 4runner limited was stolen at Montreal while me and my wife was on vacation over labor day weekend. It was parked at the hotel and the next morning it was missing. Hotel manager who saw the camera saw those thief just easily open the door and after awhile (didn't ask exactly how long) they drove off with the car. I am sure I locked the door and the key were still in my hotel room the whole night. My other key were in my New York home. It is the worst experience of my life. I am going through the insurance claim now. But Montreal police is not very co-operative. My adjuster and myself been trying to reach the police department to follow up. That officer is just not available and never return calls. Toyota safety connect been trying to contact them to confirm the case so they can start tracking the vehicle. No luck for them to reach the officer as well. Any one have any suggestion of how to deal with canada police dept?
Intersted in other places the great North to visit? Sorry for the off topic! The Montreal police force is one of the most inept and lazy forces in the country.
Three strikes against you are:
1. you speak English
2. you are American
3. you speak English
Sorry you had this experience in my country. There are much better, and friendlier places here to visit other than that shit-hole.
I don't think it was mentioned, did you procure yourself a new vehicular unit or nay?

don't know if posted somewhere, but there is a device that captures your key fob data.. it uses two devices just like this in this video and is there is one for Toyotas,, they were quite expensive, but are getting cheaper from Eastern Europe and China..
Basically, one device captures your key fob data, from your house, at work, the gym etc,, it can be re-transmitted by the second piece at the vehicle door and start the car once inside.. they can be separate or together..
Perhaps removing the FOB battery or placing it in a radio frequency blocking container when at home can protect you somewhat..
German vid,, you can CC in english but the video speaks for itself..
