About 1 hour north of Philly, power been out since 9 PM last night. Whole house genny purring since keeping the lights, internet, TV, microwave, sump pumps, well, etc. running.

Living in the woods is great but it did give us pause when the trees were doing their dance. A smaller one came down right across the driveway, of course, but otherwise looks like the worst is over.

Winds damn near took the kid and dog for a ride.

aside from the surge (which is always the problem) this was pretty uneventful.... we went surfing here in Florida. For those that fell victim to the surge hope you fair well

We have about 17" of heavy wet snow so far. They are still calling for another foot or so today here. Winds blowing 25-30 mph. My snowblower had all it could handle and it took me around an hour just to do 1/2 of my driveway. Took my wife to work (RN) and no plows had been out so had to stay in the ruts 14 miles round trip. Very few vehicles out except private plows. This is not the weather for Subarus and CUV's. Hope everyone else is safe.

NYC checking in here.

Plenty of trees down. Wind damage everywhere.
I personally had no damage to my house. Family is ok. But Long Island, where my brother in law is got f'ed up. Water up to their chest when standing in the street.
Lower Manhattan is under water. Bridges and tunnels are under water.
Be safe and good luck to all my fellow northeasterner's!

Saw the footage of Queens on fire this morning.... Hope everyone that decided to stay behind there got out alright. Stay safe my friends and keep us posted.

Okki

They are estimating about 100 homes are on fire in that neighborhood...

My sisters live in an apartment on the lower east side of Manhattan, they're trapped in their building, but ok. I just hope her brand new GLK thats parked in an underground lot is ok :wow:

Salem Ma here, I personally went wheeling during the hurricane - it got a little crazy around here but no damage to the property or anything. Hope everyone was as fortunate.

Everyone stay safe! Winds are horrible down south here and it hasn't even gotten us. I can only imagine how bad it is north of me.

Everything's fine in southern PA. Never lost power even though according to those maps the eye of the storm went right over us last night.

I went hurricane driving just to see what was out there. But it was really nothing more than a lot of rain. The wind wasn't even that bad.

Here in Southern NH, we lost power last night around 7:30 and still don't have it back. Winds were around 60 mph with lots of rain, today its 68 degrees..........go figure. Certainly different from last year’s Halloween blizzard!

Not complaining though, it could have been a lot worse like what NJ and NY experienced. Stay safe everyone!

I am curious - you guys up north... is it typical for people to have flood insurance? That's always a big deal here because it's not part of normal homeowners insurance and when we get storms, flooding is a pretty big deal. I imagine since this is such a rare occasion, a lot of people are going to find themselves without coverage.

Not typical here unless you live next to a creek. Now, we do have to buy mine subsidence insurance. Bet you don't have that down there haha.
