Upstate NY, Albany area trail ride ideas?

Just signed up for the forum finally. I have been using this forum for information for ages, leading to the purchase of my new '06 Sport Edition which is an incredible machine. Anyways, Im outside of Albany about 20min, looking to gain POC (points of contact) in the area with people that 4wheel around here, (+/-4 hour driving distance) or would want to go out sometime. Drop a line if youre interested.

Yea so I hear, I got some tips to go check out this Lake up there, and I have a few other places in the ADK that i hear are good. At this point, Im just trying to get soemthing planned for when the weather gets warmer. I think I might venture out at some point this weekend and do a quick recon. Are you from that area?

There are some trails in Ashburnham, MA and Northern CT which would likely be a couple of hours from you. Let me know if you are interested and we can hit them up this spring.

There are some trails in October Forest State Park just over the border in Lee, MA.... I don't know of any around the area, (i'm from albany) but there are a ton in Old Forge if you don't mind a nice drive out the Thruway and up Rt 28...

Ever head up to Old Forge and hit the sled trails? They are not posted, nice and wide, easily accessed from Rt 28... I've been meaning to get up there to wheel before the snow flies and don't know if I'll be able to. I like to camp in the Old Forge camping resort right in town so I'm not doing a 2.5hr drive back and forth, as I am right outside of Albany myself. Drop me a line, we should get some people together to wheel around the area. I've been having the hardest time in the world finding places around here and I've lived here for 26yrs! :driving:

Well I am 2.5 hr from the City, Old Forge is almost 2.5 from me... Google says 5 hours, and you know you can fly on the Thruway. Just shy of 300mi. The ADK mountains and views are worth the trip alone.

Let me know if you come to Old Forge anytime. I live up here for the entire summer. Usually I live ride outside Utica about an hour from ofo.
