Ha! A very slow moving party! Hopefully some more pictures to come this week. Back isn't playing nice...

AAAAHHHH!!!!
You're not supposed to find this thread!! I've left it buried for I am embarrassed at the progress I've made. aka, none. Well, a little bit.
So the green rig that's pictured has been built up (to stockish form) and 'sold' to my Dad to begin life as a work / farm truck.
The reason it was repaired and put back on the road is due to the fact I found a 2005 Tundra with the VVTi engine! So.... I've got it parked on the gravel beside my garage waiting to be picked apart. I've pillaged it for parts and used what I could on the green rig which worked out reasonably well - lots of stuff that was broken on the 2003 was working on the 2005 (leaf springs and suspension mainly).
My 2001 has been running great - a few maintenance issues but nothing serious. The most serious thing is my back, which hasn't been playing nice. I've had the 2003 in my garage for a week plus just trying to get the rock chips repaired and rust under control. I can't work on it for long and with my sciatica acting up I can't even function enough to get going on it. Well, I can load up on meds but that's not super fun... unless it's my power brownies - they're great!!!
So yep, I've got multiple 4Runners on my lot waiting to be pillaged and used for parts - I have a 2000 which I will cut the front end off of and use as a template for the V8 swap. This way I can put it in my garage double door and still have space around it to work (or so I hope). The '97 that is a limited will potentially be the body I use for this endeavor. It's pretty straight and has the stock flares which I can mod for clearance easier than my Bush Wackers.
It's a looooong, slow process. But I'll get there. I love my 3rd gen (the size is perfect for me, the GF and two dogs) but I'm always on the skinny pedal, just sucking back the premium. Gas has dropped but my drive to get the V8 swap done hasn't. All in due time...
I go in for another spine injection on April 4th and I hope that it offers up some relieve from the ridiculous 24/7 pain I'm in. Otherwise I'm looking for a spine donor!
Unfortunately I bet I am in for a surgery such as this....

Where in Canada are you located? Kind of want to check this thing out once its done!
Right close to you! Calgary, well, South East of.
Nice rig, I know the previous owner / builder! That JDM tire carrier is hard to miss.
