totally agree.. i do some of my own work under the car sometimes.. and i definitely don't want to be under the car for longer then needed to finish my job.. definitely no time to pose for pictures lol.

As in many times in life, there is more to the picture. The stands are out of frame.
I would take my bike over any rack any day.
good thing you gotta call in to order.. was looking for an "add to cart" button.. crisis averted

Just spent way too much money on a full ram mount setup for cellphones, gps, and Ipad navigation. It will be totally worth it but the initial purchase still stings just for mounts.
Will be hard mounting everything to either the dash or the trans tunnel.
Should make navigation a little bit easier for my codriver.

Yeah, if I hang onto the rack, then I probably won't be able to dish out the money for a mountain bike until next Spring. Pretty sure the mountain bike would provide a lot more enjoyment than a roof rack even though the rack would make my 4Runner look sweet and provide some utility. I'd probably spend more weekends mountain biking than using the advantages of an upgraded roof rack. *sigh* damn budgeting...

Are we suggesting being uncomfortable under the vehicle? Lol. If my jack fails catastrophically, resulting in a catostophic failure of the jack stands (out of frame), resulting in a likely failure of my head/neck/spine...well... I guess it’s just my day to go.
I’m being facetious, obviously. Safety is important but there are dangers in life. We have a choice. Live life and do things, or live in a bubble.
Dangers face all of us every day just walking out the front door, driving to work, and doing fun things. The “danger” I subjected my daughter to by having her sit in my lap for 2 minutes and look at what I was doing is well worth the memory in my book.

Good call on the RAM Mounts - just did the same a few weeks ago. Very happy with the results. I went with the seat screw mount and made a few mods to the plastic cover to make it fit.

Changed some programming options in the new 4Runner and programmed another key and got it all put into the AJT Design fob. Works perfect.
Changed the timing for the interior and puddle lights, and the rear wiper (even 5 seconds is too fast IMO, should have an 8-10 second option).
But I can't find where to disable the seatbelt buzzers or how to link the sunroof to the fob. If anyone could point out where in Techstream I can do that, I'd appreciate it.
Tuesday it got the Stealth Shield clear bra treatment (front bumper, hood, leading half of the front fenders, mirrors, door edges and handle cups, A pillars, front half of the roof to the sunroof for future rack install and the top of the rear pumper for the dog because the flap for my Canvasback doesn't cover the sides) and I picked it up yesterday.
Tomorrow it goes in for tint: 30% on the sides and back, 70% on the windshield and sunroof, 30% top strip..
Debating on doing a ceramic coating on it at home.

How do you like it? I’ve been torn trying to decide on a rack. My only reservation is that I’ve heard the frontrunner is noisy? I have a local place I can get one in a day if I go that route. Thanks!

I absolutely love the rack(s).
When I bought my first one and unboxed it, the quality and flexibility were obvious, so I immediately bought another one for my other 4Runner. We took both 4Runners on 4K-mile trip with these racks across the plains and in the mountains (including over Medano Pass and all throughout CO). We had four bikes on the 3/4 and the full length rack carried our fuel, tire and extra gear. Both were completely solid. I had some wind noise on the 3/4 on the way out because I didn't install the fairing. Since that was installed, wind noise is only occasionally noticeable and it's pretty windy around here.
Kudos to Frontrunner for a great product. Bought from Blueline Expedition Outfitters and the experience and customer service were first class from both companies.

I’m 99% set on this rack. Just don’t know if I should go 3/4 or full length. You have pics of both? And pros and cons to either? What made you guys decide to go 3/4 on one and full on the other? If you could do it again would you do 3/4 or full on both? Thanks!

Only reason I’m going 3/4 is because of the sunroof. I also don’t see myself storing more than a couple roof boxes, highlift, and maxtrax up there.
