What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

I'm not a huge venison fan. But the dogs love it. When it's free food, who am I to argue? As far as someone consuming road kill, I don't think I could do it.

Funny thing was on my way to work this morning there was a fresh road kill, medium sized doe. I thought about your pictures, but knew my wife wouldn't be happy with me tossing a dead deer in the back yard not to mention the coyotes would get it before my dog could get any.

I have an x-grip and love it. Hands down the best and easiest mount to use. They make a couple different sizes and have an endless supply of arms and mounts for them.

Sorry it took me so long to reply. I missed your quote, but it looks like you found the other thread I posted the Ram mount in.
You should'nt have any trouble finding the ram mount and additional mounting parts on Amazon.

Mickey Thompson MTZ on FN Five Star

finally got some new wheels and tires on it. 285/70-17 Mickey Thompson MTZ on the new 17" FN Wheels Five Star in anthracite light gunmetal. these wheels are so beautiful and super lightweight. big thanks to Dustin [MENTION=85422]FNWheels[/MENTION]! :cheers:

i had 42k mi on my Duratracs and they were stick-a-fork-in-'em done: pretty loud and chopped bad enough that you could easily feel them at low speed. comparatively, the MTZs are super smooth and quiet. hopefully a vigorous rotation schedule will help to keep them somewhat that way.

i do have some pretty good rubbing on the body mount going on, but i only have 3.8 (D) and 3.3 (P) caster at the moment—another alignment may be imminent. while i'm at it, i may crank the coilovers a couple turns to reduce the 2" rake i have at the moment (coils at default ICON setting).

if more positive caster doesn't help eliminate the rubbing, i'd appreciate any recommendations for a New England shop that can do a smart body-mount chop. i'm willing to drive a good ways to get it done right, so please feel free to chime in, fellow Yankees.

Bilstein and SAW install

I dropped off my SR5 at my favorite garage this morning for installation of 4 Bilstein 5100's and rear SAW's. The front 5100s are to be set at 1.75", which should work well with the rears and SAWs. I wanted to do the install myself, but reality set in when trying to find the time to do it. I took measurements at the wheels and at the frame before dropping it off. Will post new measurements when I get it back.

Love those wheels. They are on my shortlist for Christmas.

Mmmm Yeah, There's some performance things I want first but some 5 stars aren't far behind. Simple and light.

I was debating between the 1.75" and 2.5" settings. From all the research/reading on here, the results seem to vary. I didn't mind the minor rake mine had, and I'm not really shooting for level, but I was fearful of reverse rake after the install with gear loaded in the back. I guess I'll have room for a little more lift in the front if the rake is too bad. In the meantime, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the 1.75" will work just fine.

New gear

Installed my seat back organizers from Blue Ridge Overland Gear and my Husky liners. Thought it was cool how BROG included a tag signed by the person who sewed them. Thanks Jen! Now I just need some pouches!!

I'd re-measure in a couple of days, and maybe parked in a different spot.
That seems kind of low. Stock is usually 34-1/2" and 35" up front, 36-1/2" and 37" in the rear. Of course, everyones ride is different.
