Getting her cleaned up. 10,000 mile road trip beginning thursday next week:

lol - all highway. Nothing exciting! I'll pull into Denver the night before my birthday and then the next day my dad and I jump into his '11 4Runner Limited and head up to Coeur d'Alene Idaho to see my Grandmother (grandpa passed away last month before I could get back from Affygan)
Then it's back to Denver where I'll jump back into my truck and follow my mother and brother up to Michigan's UP for two weeks. I'll finish up there, and drive down to Killeen, Tx to spend a few days with the GF and then it's back to my new home in Kansas City. :roadkill:

Wow, thats quite the trip and miles you have ahead. Sorry to hear about your Grandpa... on a brighter note glad your back in one piece from Afghanistan. If Im still around in Denver you should stop by and say hi! Safe travels to you!

Thanks! If you've got a recommendation where I can drop off my truck to have my rims powdercoated while I'm gone to Idaho, I'm all ears. I'd love to do your rear bumper, but with the stock market down I'm unwilling to take a loss on positions to buy a toy right now.

Had my tires rebalanced today - Finally got my Duratracs installed at Americas Tire but they were not balanced correctly. So today I took them to my local Toyota dealer who has a road force machine. Perfectly balanced now! Thanks to all concerned in the various threads that recommended finding a shop with a road force machine. I took that advice and sure enough they got it right first time.
Try Diono Radian seats. They're designed to fit three across a back seat row and are supposedly as strong and safe as anything out there. My wife has been doing lots of research on this - we are probably adding to the family but don't want to have to buy her a car with a third row of seats. If you're not in a hurry you can ask me in a few weeks and I can probably give you a first-hand opinion.

Picked up some Icon UCA's from a member on the FJ forums down on the eastern shore. Took my dad along and we made a fathers day trip out of it in Annapolis!
UCA's are a little beat up, but I'll take it for almost a 50% discount. I might get icon to do some work on them. Pics later!

Yeah, I was in Lowes the other day and decided to pick one up (counter top toaster oven with timer). It has a decent capacity inside, so I figured it was worth it to learn how. If I end up setting up the garage like I want, I'll put a subpanel in and have a bit of metalworking ability in there. If that works out, I'll pick up a used electric oven off of CL for bigger projects, and set up a more advanced spray booth than what I did. Lots of projects between than and now, though.
I used the cardboard box from the oven as a spray booth, and with some creativity, a baby food jar lid, and a piece of coat hanger, I suspended the emblem.
