I took the runner on Sunset Beach. It is the first time I drove it on a beach. Feels so good. I should have took pictures but thought about it afterwards.

Got into some plastidip this weekend.

We hooked up the trailer and race car last week and hauled everything halfway across the country and back. The wagon handled everything just fine, even the mountains of western Maryland. We averaged abour 14 MPG for the whole trip

looks good Factory, how did the plastidip go down on the rims? any tips?

The plastidip laid down pretty good. That stuff is a top to work with. It's extremely forgiving if you mess it up.

Make sure you clean em up pretty good. I lined in between the wheel and tire with tape instead of notecards. Then used the notecards to mask off since I didn't have enough newspaper.

Make sure you get the inside of the holes on the wheels covered up real good. That was the hardest part of the painting. If I redid them, one thing I may consider would be taping off the inside of the wheel to prevent the overspray inside the rim.

Plasti-Dip

I love this stuff...Blacked out my wheels and a few more chrome strips. Still a work in progress, but I was too giddy about what I was able to finish yesterday to not post. I obviously have a couple more chrome pieces to hit. My plan is to do at least the front strip and door handles (not sure how they will hold up to constant use). It got dark on me last night, but I will be doing some clean up of what i have done and probably clear coat the wheels for easier cleaning and durability.

FYI...about the plasti-dip process: I left the wheels on, and did not bother with taping anything other than the brake calipers. I tucked some paper in behind the wheel to keep any overspray from getting on any other brake components. I figured the tires are rubber...and the plasti-dip won't stick to them very well anyway. I was right, the overspray basically falls off when its dry. As far as the other pieces...after some trial and error i found that it is best to tape all around whatever you are spraying and leave about an inch or so of your car showing. The excess will peel right off and give you cleaner lines and less chance of screwing up what you are actually trying to dip by peeling off the rubber w/ the tape. Oh, and I use just a roll of the 12" wide masking paper that painters use to mask off a wide enough area around what i am spraying to protect from the overspray. The overspray comes off pretty easy, its just a PITA so i try to simplify that process as much as possible.

Looks great, but I'd recommend getting a different sticker for that roof rack faring!! haha
