Tried my hand at plasti-dipping last night and peeled it back this morning. I had some troubles trying to get the material to break cleanly at the chrome/body paint intersection. I think it may have something to do with the ambient temperature of my garage overnight, so I'll probably try re-do it when it gets warmer. I'm going to touch it up tonight in the mean time, but not bad for my first go. I did the trim on the back (including the license plate frame!) and the badges. The badges were especially uncooperative. Going to try the side trim tonight and maybe the door handles if I'm feeling saucy. Anyway, sorry for the terrible cell phone picture quality.

Thanks for the heads up T4Ranger. I initially went back to peel it about an hour or so later and it was still a little mushy, so I'm guessing I applied too thick as well. Good to know!

Been a hard last half of 2013 at work. Good, but hard! Finally getting a little down time - started vacation today, don't have to go back until Jan 2!
Gassed & loaded the 4Runner, my buddy Doug will be at my house at 6am tomorrow and we leave for Big Bend (2nd trip for me). Going to do it a little differently this trip. We're going to get on Hwy 90 out of San Antonio and drive through Del Rio. Going to camp in the national park, check out some of what I didn't get to see last trip.
Then we are going to cut over to the state park and camp at Chorro Vista:
Big Bend Ranch State Park Chorro Vista ? Texas Parks & Wildlife Department
Never been to the state park before, looking forward to it! We're going to finish out through Marfa, then Ft Davis and the Davis Mtns - come home before Christmas! I'll have limited access to the forum, will post w/ pics when we get back.

Have fun!! I love that place! I've spent A LOT of time there. I'm in Houston but I drive there at least once or twice a month. Check out Mariscol Mine. It's a mercury mine there. There's a road that leads to it that's pretty legit. It's the only "rock crawling" I've had to do in Texas. My buddy went and almost rolled his taco a week ago.
The state park is very cool. It has a true slot canyon like the ones found in Utah.

I plan to repeat Pine Valley, Black Gap road w/ my Buddy (he's never been) and run river road west all the way.
I would very much appreciate any input you have on the state park - information is very scarce for the state park!

Head out to Colorado sometime..I'm sure you'll love it. There's a ton of mountains to hit as well.
