No I don't. Half the time I Just left it on as it is and the other half I have it with my recovery gear bag in the trunk (you'll need to unscrew it to get the strap in anyways). Must say the truck looks better with shackle on though.

Just as an FYI, the offer I came away with was $15k difference for trading my SR5 on a $45K msrp LE. Not incl TTL.

Tighten the pin on that shackle down with a wrench of some sort and hope for the best, lol. f'in thieves make honest people's lives miserable

That's not terribly terrible. Counter with $10k difference, stressing your headlamps alone are worth $2k (what do they know, then flick them on at this point for impact). Maybe you can settle at 12 difference. Either way, the 14 LE is crazy nice. I've already gotten stuck once (40 cms of snow.)

I've driven around with a shackle attached to my hitch for the last couple years without it being stolen. Put a zip tie through the hole in the pin and attach it to the hitch. I bet most guys that'd eye it up wouldn't bother at that point unless they carry a pair of sidecutters around. What's a new shackle worth anyhow? 10 bucks maybe?

You should tell them that the more fuel-efficient cars should have to drive farther for a spot. They won't use as much gas looking for one.

After checking the neanderthal air mattress options, for the back of my T4R, I commissioned a local mattress company, to build me a custom fit pad. I picked it up today. It's three inches of foam with a pillow top. It's 44" X 66" and fits perfect with the second row seats folded down. Not wanting to see it get dirty, I hauled it over to a tent and awning business, to have a slip cover custom made for it. I selected a non-girlie-man MARPAT material, which will look good in the back of the T4R flat space. It should be ready next Monday. I'll post some pictures of this mod then. My costs are: $140.27 for the pad and $91 for the MARPAT cover = $231.27. I figure it's money well spent for a comfortable night's sleep. The pad is flexable enough to "S" roll and store behind the upright second row seats

I picked up the finished MARPAT cover for the pad. As stated, here are the pictures. As you can see, the pad "S" rolls and stows behind the second seat, leaving reasonable room for other items like an extreme cold weather mummy sleeping bag in a water proof bag, snow chains, snow shovel, tactical bag, parka and other items needed for the outback. I'm pleased with the final outcome and if need be, I'll now have a comfortable sleeping spot in my T4R.

Buddy of mine went to a junk yard and got a Hybrid Synergy Drive emblem. Then he mounted it on the back of his F-250 truck. Evidently there were reserved parking spots at his job near the entrance. Manager asked why he parked his truck in the reserved spot for fuel efficient vehicles. He calmly walked out with the Manager and showed him the Hybrid emblem, saying "My truck is powered by a gasoline-electric hybrid system, which combines an internal combustion engine's high-speed power with the clean efficiency and low-speed torque of an electric motor that never needs to be plugged in."

He still parks there today......

Nothing can prevent theft, if someone wants it bad enough they will take it. Out-of-sight-out-of-mind.

Suppose you could try tacking the pin in with a small weld. Going too waste the whole shackle if you ever have to remove it though.
