What did you do to/in your 5th Gen today?!

Flipped out when I saw the hail damage to my truck tonight. Passenger doors are the only part with no damage. Ugh.

:crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby::crybaby:

I'm trying to tell myself there are worse things as I rapidly consume margaritas to dull the pain.

Holy crap man, im sorry to hear that. Hopefully the insurance company will handle it right and quickly.

Made a new sign for my garage today!

Installed a 1/2" Body lift

I have never been a fan of body lifts but after installing my front Shrockworks bumper and rear CBI with tire carrier it seems the body and frame like to flex quite a bit while daily driving and off roading. I had to do something because over time the fenders will likely begin to dent and get ruined. I noticed that the front fenders were getting some contact occassionally with the corners of the front bumper. I was going to just remove the bumper and drill out the holes so I could adjust it down lower a little and remove the rear bumper and re-cut the plastic corner OE bumper trim. But for $35 I thought this was a better route. My OPOR sliders were pretty close to the body as well so it gave it a good little gap and room for flexing. Pretty simple install and I am happy with the look of it.

Here is a link to where I stumbled onto the BL in case anyone else is interested.

Sorry man! Picture? We love to share the misery!

I cant get the damn pics off my phone for some reason, but the damage could have been way worse. Just got back from the body shop this morning and they are thinking new bumper plus some work on the rear quarter panel including a bunch of painting. Coming out to around $1750 + 5 days to do the repairs. We had some big hail yesterday which has go the body shops around here very busy. This particular shop gets very good reviews but wont be able to get me in until December (fml) so I may shop around a bit more and see if I cant get in somewhere else. Personally I would rather wait for quality work, but not sure if the GF will be down.

That's about what my bumper gap looks like without a body lift. Planning to use some rubber weather stripping to fill the void, or spray flat black on the painted sheet metal in the gap if the weather strip doesn't work out.

I would plastidip the recessed material underneath. The lift makes it look like the bumpers aren't meant for the truck.

I was thinking I would do that after finishing the instal and looking at it last night. I snapped those pics this morning so haven't had time to really do anything else.
I still think the bumper looks great and fits the front end nicely.
Keep in mind I go wheeling often so if the gap keeps my bumper from ruining the fenders then it doesn't bother me, I'd rather it be functional than visually appealing.

I have room now to move the front bumper back up more, but the way the mounting holes were before I had no more room to move it down away from the fenders. Funny how they all fit each truck a bit different!

Swapped the stock rack for the 10-13 TE rails thanks to bigbillyt. Running Thule crossbars and a 44" fairing trimmed to fit around the side rails. Also running a Yakima Basketcase with ski rack mounts to get the rack recessed between the bars

Tackled a super hard mod today......

PlastiDipped Luggage Carrier Front & Rear Covers Black :behindsofa:

Mounted a pair of Rigid SRM-2 Driving lights to my bud built plate to serve as ditch lights and cover the area my combo flood/spot SR20 doesn't reach. Pretty pleased with the performance of them.

Finally got off road for the first time since I had moved. Never wheeled on a beach before. Pretty interesting. Little photo opportunity while we were hanging out.
