My T4 took me to the local Veterans Hospital where I volunteer once a week helping the other old guys.
I saw this sign on a room in the ER today. The room was empty and I bet they would have trouble getting a patient into it.

They come on automatically when you shift to reverse, I did not wire them to a switch but its possible, there are some wiring diagrams on this forum that show how to do it. I just wanted them to come on without me having to do anything special.

I wired them to the the reverse and ground poles on the 7-way trailer harness. There is a wiring diagram on the cover of the 7-way connector that will show you which pole to connect to.

The harness is mounted by 2 bolts and connected to the electrical system by 2 connectors that easily disconnect. I removed the harness and place it on the workbench. I opened up the wiring cover and traced the wires to a convenient location to splice into and soldered in the wire leads I needed. I re-wrap the protective cover over the wires. On the other ends of the 2 leads I crimped on male blade connectors. Then I re-installed the harness in the vehicle. Now I had a pigtail ready to connect to when I installed the lights.

you can see most of the work and the wiring diagram on the cover in the picture. I was very careful to seal up and insulate all the connection. All in all it was very easy.

would you happen to have a picture of the stock connector the lights came with? i looked online and i havent be able to find one.

Learned two things today:
1) the solenoid on my air horn doesn't like the cold
2) it takes about 25 seconds to empty my air tank from 150 psi to 0 through said horn.

In making the switch from 20" to 17" wheels, after weeks of searching for a reasonable price on a steel 17" FJ wheel ($50), I had a tire mounted on it today for my spare.

75k mile service. Stealer said my 4runner was exceptionally well kept and I am still good to go on the ORIGINAL rotors/pads. They did try to say my cabin filter was dirty and I had to enlighten them it was a charcoal filter not filled with dirt lol

I feel sorry for uninformed ppl who go into a dealership for service. They told my sister her Corolla w/ 40K needed a PS flush because the fluid was contaminated. They also tried for a coolant flush, when the water pump had been replaced just last year.

I just bought my SD a cherry CRV that had been so over-maintained by the dealer as to be nearly criminal. Sad, really.
