I have a 2017 5th Gen SR5P that came with the silverish roof rail/rack. I tossed them, and picked up a 2010-2013 Trail Edition rack that was sun faded. Buffed it down, etching primer, and a semi gloss black later:
Will post installed pics once they're dry. I will probably throw them on tomorrow. Not sure if they will be my cup of tea. If not, they will be up for sale.

Got my snorkel delivered today soooo I installed it today! Chop chop! Wasn’t as bad as I thought. Pretty easyyyyy besides the pain of cutting into your fender thinking about how bad it can get ifnyou mess up lol

...SOooo...there have been a few threads here and on Tacoma-World about mice, rats, and squirrels chewing up the wiring in our harnesses since they are now coated in enviro-friendly sow-based coverings....This is no-bueno!
...A few folks posted that moth-balls and dryer-sheets seem to repel the chewy little bastards....so figured I would give it a try....
...Took some ponderin to come up with a way to keep these items under the hood...but a trip to the dollar-store solved the search for all the items...
..First, get some mothballs....which begs the question: Ever smelled mothballs?......( didja hold them by the wings...or by their feet? )...:drum:
....OK-ok....so, next get some dryer-sheets...and some girl's ankle socks...
..Pt 4-6 mothballs in a sock...( your mileage may vary )...add a dryer sheet...and staple shut...then staple that to heavy-duty tape....
...I used gaffer's tape, as I work in the industry...but duct-tape would be just as good...

...I looked in the engine compartment for flatter areas...so the socks-n-tape would not have to fight gravity so much...and put 3 of them...one on each side of the compartment..and one on the valley in front of the radiator...
...Put them all up high to avoid them getting splashed..and used some rubbing alcohol first to ensure a good grip...
...Lastly, I folded the socks over and taped them down on the other ends...to keep them from bouncing around on bumpy roads and possibly working their way loose...
...Total cost...about 3 bucks....cheap insurance to try and keep dem damn hungry critters from doin a lot of expensive damage to our wiring!...:boxer:

Some pleasure, some work
First I looked at "Szczelinec" (the highest peak in Table Mountains) from the parking lot.
It's not a tall even by Polish standards (3015 ft elevation) but very nice hike trail rising 850ft mostly steep stairs. On the top the trail goes through fantastic rock formations with caves, cracks in small passages. Still easy to do even for the old fart like myself.
Then I checked my Bismarck from the top
That much for the pleasure. A couple days later I used it for towing dead trees cleaning my 3.7 acres property.
I was only worried that I may end up like this guy:doh:

You are smart to be proactive with this. The alternative is a huge pita. I used to live in the country, and keeping peanut butter traps set in the garage was just SOP. I always caught mice ... always.

So... I have also heard of just spraying Pledge (or generic wood cleaner/polish) on everything works just as well. I have been doing that for the past 2 years.
...I really hope it works because not even I can stand the smell of moth balls.

Like I said in an earlier post, I picked up some sun faded Trail Edition roof rails/rack. My intent was to make them look new, but the only feasible way seemed to be to paint them. Glad I did, as they turned out perfect, and look awesome on my black 4R. I went with professional grade semi gloss.
Ok time to vent.....
Borla is a great cat back, fit was perfect, sound is very mild. Slightly better than stock which I am very happy with. 325 for an extremely clean used set up, 50 bucks for the install. I was unable to install myself since the garbage Toyota bolts with 30k miles on a 2016 where so corroded I had to run over to a shop and have them cut off.

Those rails look great, my favorite by far. You actually have room to put rope under them unlike the newer roof rails which leave a lot less room to tie to.
