You just pull up on it. It has these 'fingers' that snap in. When you replace it the tips will bend if not aligned with slots. Just reach under and get them started in the right spot. Then press down. Give it a tap and it's back in place.
Now the bottom of that piece has a square box like 'foot' so it would not cave in under pressure. But I had to cut that off with a rotary tool and cutter disc. Very easy. Also the cloth part has two screws and 5 or 6 clips that hold it to the base. I took that off to make the cut. Then just snapped it back together.
It just pops apart pretty much like a lot of the other parts. You see a the top of that picture is a rectangle of gray foam. Look just above it. You see that slot. Now look to the left of the bottom edge of gray foam. You see that 'finger'. It fits in that slot and you can see, it one I bent once. It's deformed but would be tough to break. It still works fine. To the left of that bent one is another finger and it fits a slot off to the top right that can't be seen. Two more on the other end. One is barely in frame at very bottom of photo. The part that covers the seatbelt also fits in a slot but it's not a clip deal. It just drops in.
Actually, you can see the four slots in the first picture if you want an idea of where you need to pull.
That's for a Limited 3rd row seats model. Not sure the others are made that way.
