What! I was told by the dealer and all the internet forums (not jeep, GM, or Ford ones) that 4Runners were indestructible and could traverse any obstacle right off the lot, even the 2wd models. I feel cheated. lol. Glad those guys were able to get out.Very nice! Just don't end up like this 4Runner.

How are you liking your 285/75-17’s? Do they seem to be ok with the factory gearing?Happy labor day or as i like to call it Happy installation day!!!:bluejump:
Helping out a buddy with installing his Dr.Kdss plates, Lasfit lightbars and Rago goodies.....

Thanks for your response. That was very informative for myself as I am looking into new suspension for my Pro and was considering if it was worth going higher and doing a BMC, mud flap removal, etc. etc. I think I will just switch to a 285/70 MT down the road. I am satisfied with my Wildpeaks SL 285/70 AT3W. They have performed well in a variety of conditions.I love them, but yeah I wouldn't run them without regearing.
Although i kinda tell a white lie to all my trail buddies that they run fine without re-gearing so they will upgrade to them...hahahaa..
yeah don't do it, especially with a true 34. here is why:
1. transmission temps will be high due to the constant gear searching or...
2. you drive in s4 all day long, but you will lose over drive and be slow as fck on any long freeway inclines..I MEAN SLOW as in big rigs passing you.
3. your 1st gear low range is more like 2nd gear low range.. way to fast.
However, if you end up with a 34 that runs small..you can probably get away with it.
As for them being yoko's? I love em. They do surprisingly well for a MT for daily driving. Other than a slight hum, very mild road manners. Offroading, they are a beast as expected when compared to AT tires... They are also light weight for a MT tire in its size, which is important if you want to retain some reliability in your suspension and steering components. Also,285/75/70s are so skinny (compared to 305/70/17), they were relatively easy to fit ( only thing i had to add was extended front bump stops in addition to the other mods to clear 33s).

Your Kings are great, but, I don’t want to spend that much money at this time. I need to raise my 4 runner back up about an inch after I added the the full C4 skids and diff skid. Have Shockwork sliders also and 4 LFD wide bars that I carry a couple of Gun cases with recovery equipment and miscellaneous stuff. Thinking about a medium load Dobinsons setup. I will eventually add a Lo Pro bumper. Have you had any experience with previous suspensions or one you might recommend in the mid range?
Your rig is awesome. TIA
