Today, I rewired the rocker panel switches for the led light and backlight. 1st set ordered on Amazon really did not fit even though Amazon said they would. And I of course wired them up without test fitting.

I kept putting off a few maintenance items and finally did them yesterday.
Oil and Filter, both drive shafts greased, rear diff oil replaced and drained the radiator for a refill with Toyota pink.
Tire rotation and brake inspection today.
A two post lift would have made it a lot easier.

Added some Led pillar lights for some more brake light brightness.
Looks good, I've seen these on CTH, how bad was the wiring?
Quick follow up. While it is a HUGE improvement over the stock nonsense, if you are in the market for something that is crazy bright, get the expensive bulbs. No regrets really with this for what the others cost as these are plenty of light, but it's not an OMG amount of light. It's more than adequate, however. In the rear camera you can see 100X better, but it doesn't throw enough light where if you were turning your head to look around or using your mirrors you could see that amazing.

The hardest part was fishing it through the two rubber gromets/harness from the trunk to the vehicle at the top since the wires are very thin.
I used a regular wiring fish tape to feed it through.
the rest is very easy, Y harness included and all plug and play to the tail lights.
when taking off the pillar just be careful to not break any clips/tabs. if you push the trim up toward the spoiler and out, is best way i've found.

Swapped out an HID retrofit for the OEM LEDs. HIDs were better output, but I’m happy with how it turned out. Did the 9011 mod while I was at it, those things are amazing. I was able to find some of the Toshiba HIR bulbs. Took about 2 hours start to finish and 20 minutes of that was modifying one of the 9011 bulbs because I cut the tab wrong.

I’ve been looking at DRZs for a while. Wish I would have bought one a few years back when they were cheaper.Bought it a 2 wheeled adventure friend. 2007 Suzuki DRZ400.

Yea, not sure what the pre-covid prices were on these, but I think I did ok on this one. Was looking for a bit and this one popped up close to home so I jumped on it. I think going into winter helped me on price a bit. I paid $4300 for it with a bunch of improvements on it and it seems super clean. Yoshi exhaust, Seat Concepts seat, thicker skid, pro taper/tusk bars, risers, guards, new decals, new tires, etc. Untouched motor too which I wanted. Didn't need someone else's project. It's my first bike, so need to get some miles on her! Was always a 4 wheel guy with ATVs. I feel I won't lose much on it if I ever sell it, but who knows.
I wish I was on your coast for the trails. There is some good stuff here or I can go to PA, but would love Cali.

Pre covid, at least around here, a stock DRZ was about $2000. But, I think you got a pretty good deal given the stuff that came with it. Solid find. DRZs are indestructible. My buddy who does a lot of single track riding, he has a KTM now, had a DRZ forever. Rode it a lot, never even changed the oil haha. He had zero issues with it. So, for a first bike, it's a good choice I think. I've had sport bikes before, but am going to get into a DRZ in the near future hopefully.
Dang! At $2k I wish I was into bikes 3 years ago. That would have been a no brainer for something like this. Great to hear that. The indestructability was a big factor for me on going with it over a much more inflated Yamaha. Those are amazing bikes I'm told, but I wasn't going to pay what people are asking at this point. I’ve got the lights in my Taco too, honestly wish the white was a touch dimmer. The switch is from AOB. It’s a single switch as I don’t have the front camera.
