What Did You Do To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Cleaned......No wait, detailed the car. Oiled the leather (seats, steering wheel, ect.), replaced burnt out brake light, greased my tires, buffed my wheels, shined my rear chrome bumper, changed oil, waxed the hood and installed 3 Husky mats (free from my girlfriend's mom. Yay!). Alright, time to get it dirty again. :lookout:

Drove it around. Then cleaned her all up. Ran out of day light before I could clean it out on the inside. For 16 year old paint it still shines up pretty darned well.

Drove it almost 600 miles round trip today (left at 4:00 a.m., got home around 5:00 p.m.) to pick up my new 3rd Gen. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised how well it tows. Takes forever to get moving but once you're up to speed it cruises at 60-70 without breaking a sweat. And that was with towing 4700 pounds behind it.

My daughter didn't like the standard Satoshi so we added an oversized emblem

Started on my lift and gave up after 3 hours of trying to do the front driver side strut and spring. How the **** do you remove the 3rd not for the top plate? Its in such a tight spot I cant get a socket on it to break it loose. I tried to do the method of dropping the lower control arm to slide the old spring out and new one in, but the new one is longer and I cant fit it back.

So now I'm stuck with half my front end taken apart until I can figure out how to get the top plate off so I can compress everything and put it back together.

Wrench.

I tried. My ratcheting wrench is too wide to fit, it hits the circular lip in the middle. Using the open ended side it starts to strip. I tried vice grips and they started to slip too.

I guess I'll have to go buy a non-ratcheting 14mm wrench. They are less bulky than the ratcheting ones and I think might fit in the tight spot.

Thanks. I'm gonna borrow some from another member tomorrow.

You can also try banging in the liner that is right above it, thats what I did. Took a small hammer and just pounded away...it gave me enough room to get a socket on it to start it, then I switched to a ratcheting wrench...it was by far the hardest part of the whole install.

I had the day off, so I made some RCAM skids and welded them on.

Last weekend at Uwharrie I slammed the RCAM mount and it bent it in the so control arm rubbed on the metal making some nasty sounds, this should prevent that from happening again

Realized, I,ve been driving a little heavier footed than normal since doing the Meth injection. 138 miles before red fuel light came on. Mixed up a new batch of Meth/distilled to top it off.

Parked next to a 2nd gen...I know not the same, but I still get a kick out of it...
