What did you do with your 4runner today?

.5-1 from the taco assembly and 3" from the spacer.
The front spacer -

I have the daystar kit, the spacer is abut 1.25" thick and yields 2.5 (maybe a bit more actually) inches of lift, just due to the geometry of the suspension.

The problem with just lifting the crap out of the front is that you change the angle of the CV's and a bunch of other crap and you won't be able to get your alignment in spec without aftermarket UCAs.

LTDSC can tell you more about this exact set up. I have no experience with the taco coilovers, but he can tell you if you'll need them.

Yeah. I understand all the angles with cvs and all. I was just confused at the lift amount. I thought I'd get 1.5 from te spacer and 1.00 to 1.25 from the taco coilovers. I'm just confused at how a spacer causes double the height of its construction. Guess I'm just having a blond moment. :shocked:

The Tacoma shocks are built to work with the Tacoma coils. The 4runner coils are quite a bit different, not sure how well those would work together. IMO you'd be better off buying the Daystar Budget Boost front spacer ($40, it's 1" thick and give 2" lift). Combined with the Tacoma shocks/coils, you will be around 3" lift in the front.

FYI I got mine prime shipped for 130, they're since raised the price, but yeah it's that kit with the stud extenders, the one you have is equally easy to install though and IMO a better design than the stud extenders.

As for the DS lift, I got closer to 3" in the front, not 2.5. somewhere around 2.75" - I don't think it's a big deal

Should I sell all my extra stuff , and keep the bilstein HDs ? And but a 1" spacer budget boost ? Or should I throw the spacers I have on my stock suspension , and store te bilstein HDs until I can afford adjustable UCAs?

Just run the new struts. I have stock UCA's with over 3.5" of lift and I've had it that way for 15,000 miles.

I'd throw the spacers on your stock stuff.

Save up for some nice OME or a coilover setup. You're gonna want to upgrade soon after you finish this lift

haha. I did upgrade to a more expedition focused yak. So yeh - the craigslist one I was going to check out after we finished cutting apart your grill is the one w/ the cover. Got it for a song and the prior owner used it maybe 3 times over 3 years. Looked brand new. It replaced my older AirFusion - a 13' inflatable..which is now for sale. That was a great little boat but had ZERO storage.

Came up with a cool creation to make it possible to get the kayak on the roof by myself too. I'll have to post that up for other folks to make/use.
