What did you do with your 4runner today?

pull the bolt covers off the oh sh!t handles, take out the bolts, disengage the clips and there's a claw on the bottom, basically just pull up and out and that plastic piece comes out. to drop the headliner enough to get the wire back, tke the visors off, some 10mm bolts, maybe pull off the map light assembly, just shove the wire behind. Give it a whirl. I may be able to make a video tomorrow if you can't figure it out, let me know

That doesnt sound too bad. I already have the wire tucked in the ceiling but once I get it to the dash where does it go? I took off the glove box yesterday but couldnt figure out if there was a way to put the wire through there....

between the panels, as indicated in red. Just separate them a bit and pop the wire in there. black piece under the glove box, stick the wire back there behind it, it'll stay. You should just hardwire it into the cig lighter or an unused fuse slot or something too.

How do you hardwire it to the 12v plug? If you hardwire it can you still use the 12v for other things?

How do you hardwire it to the 12v plug? If you hardwire it can you still use the 12v for other things?

depends on the draw of the camera. I'd imagine you would be fine running most things. I have a dual USB charger and my radar detector hard wires into the cig plug and can still use it with plenty of draw to spare. However, i wouldn't run say a portable compressor off of it.

What you could do too is buy and "add a circuit" kit or some fuse tapes and get the + from the fuse box and then ground it somewhere else on the body. fuse taps are awesome.

to tap an existing power source you can use these (easiest way) Quick Splice Connector with Male Disconnector (3-Pack) : Disconnectors | RadioShack.com

but make sure you get the appropriate gauge for the wire you're using. To get to the wiring for the dash cam, bust open the cig lighter plug on the end of the cord and you should have a + wire (red) and a -, black. should come apart with a few screws

as for accessing the cig lighter and related wiring, the center console is held on by 6 clips, just grab up by the little pocket behind the shifter (away from the cup holders) and yank it up, disconnect wiring harnesses and that should be all you need to remove.

I didn't take the whole panel off then tucked the rest along the crack like you said. Once I got to pic #3 I removed the center pieces and put under the cup holder!! Thanks for the help....I was jumping around after I did it like a kid, my husband thought I was crazy arty:

Uneven pad wear, so probably going to be getting new pads and rotors too since they've already been resurfaced twice. Hoping the dealer that replaced the calipers about 25k miles ago will help me out somehow.

Yea. Actually feels like its getting worse. Maybe I'm just paranoid about it. Sprinkled a LITTLE bit of water on the wheel when I got home and it sounded like I was putting a fire out. I'll be taking the train all week, so I've got time to order parts and find a reasonable price somewhere.

If the dealer won't work with you, you may want to check this rotor/pad combo. I put these on my altima a few years back, and just put them on my 4runner 2 months ago. They look fantastic and perform the same...can't beat the price.

you notice any difference in brake dust? I clean my truck all the time and loved that the OEM pads were so low on dust. I put aftermarket on my accord a few years ago and I might as well have painted my front wheels black. Huge pain in my ass.
