Sorry for the late reply was on vacation all last week, yeah I found him on craigslist when I first got my car. The rack was still in development back then and now he's finally done and selling them like hotcakes!

I'd def recommend one from him since he's local!

Thats something i would love to do is to get rid of the electronic selector. But i just dont know how the process is. I was readding up on the person that did it. But got lost in his wording. Because he also talks about the crawler box as well.

It's not that. V8 is full time 4wd. With the manual t-case you can shift into 2wd. Also, then you don't have to worry about actuators and all that jazz.

Just follow his build thread. He is laying everything out in a very easy to understand step by step. You don't even have to go dual stick if you want.
All the info is on rock solid toys forum too, although harder to understand in my opinion.

From what I've gathered, these actuators are failing (with age and abuse) all over the place. I believe even toyota's manual states to engage the locker once a month to ensure that it continues to work. I aided the failure of mine with water crossings and mud holes, but I've seen these fail on 4runners that basically never use them. The little electric actuator motors seize an fail.

The cheapest I've found a replacement actuator for was $853.00 then you still have to open the tcase to install the new actuator assembly.
its 2k for a new tcase w/ actuator ready to bolt in place from toyota
used tcases w/ actuator $600-$900 unknown condition of actuator motors. (could purchase a seized one)

$350 for this used Fj case
$200 for the twin sticks

Knowing you have true 4wd.. Priceless.

Beach trip!

Went to freeman park here in NC over the weekend. Saw a bunch of trucks bogged down but I had my tire pressure down and didn't have any problems. Will definitely be going back here, it was awesome. Unfortunately it only made me want a lift even more haha

Yeah it actually took off a chunk of glass with it! I may or may not have bumped my arm on it...

Had a busy saturday with house stuff but did find time to do oil change and oil filter change. I also switched the drain plug to a Fumoto Drain Valve. Should make these much easier!

Tomorrow I will be tackling the coilover lower bushings and then moving on to my UCA bushings if I have time.

Nice I did the same thing, and am now kind of excited for my next oil change.
