I've had friends and neighbors who were burned at Firestone. The worst: "Your engine is leaking profusely" was one I was asked to look at. No leak at all.

My impression of them is that their stores are franchises, often owned by a well-off early retiree who also owns a McDonnald's or two.

The whole concept of 'lifetime alignment' makes me laugh. But I wish I had thought of it and owned a place that sells them !

I always get the "we can't do your alignment (w/ modified suspension) unless you buy this and that from us to adjust it."

1) But you can still zero out my toe (on my TSX). I didn't ask you to fix the camber.
2) I have adjustable SPC camber bolts up front and arms in the rear (on my Si).

Firestones around me just don't want to touch modified vehicles.

They sell lifetime alignments like how Discount Tire sells tire rotations and balances. They take the off chance that most people don't come back for the lifetime services, and when you do it too often, they throw a fit.

I agree with you guys, several times I had bad experiences with my lifetime luck. However I just recently did some stuff to the front end. I went in to the nearest one to the house that I haven't been in yet. Met the tech before I checked in.

He looked and said "great SPC ball joints and I can see you have new cam bolts etc, are you wanting specific numbers?" As a matter of fact I do. Long story short. I left with this

Caster 3.1 x2
Toe 0.0 x2
Camber 0.0 x2

His name was Doug, I actually sent him a thank you note and called him "Alignment Doug" young guy about 25ish. I got to sit with him while he did it all. Excellent experience. He is my guy now!

In seriousness, I wonder what gas prices would have to get to before I would consider changing vehicles. All of mine get around 16-19mpg good for about 30,000 miles/year.

LMAO!!!.....I am in the complete opposite position. I need to wash mine in preparation for a clay, cut, polish & seal this weekend. My problem is that we are under a Stage 3 Drought which restricts car washing..............:ybrick:

Bahaha!! Wouldn't get caught dead in a Prius. I was just hoping my v6 T4R would get better gas mileage than my 5.7 v8 Sequoia. This experiment is mostly a novelty. We own 5 Toyotas and they are all gas guzzlers, I'm certainly used to it. Gas prices can sky rocket and I still wouldn't part with my 4Runner. Ever. Deep down inside I bet you feel the same.

Swapped out WS tranny fluid on my V8 with Max life, drain and fill. Have to do it 2 more times to get all the WS out.

USB Charger. Super easy! Just took me a bit to realize that my easy splices were for too large of a wire gauge and weren't actually doing anything...

I have the same HU and have been very pleased, with one exception. Please lmk if you get radio interference when the headlights are on. Crutchfield said to disconnect the dimmer wire but that didn't seem to fix it, unless I disconnected the wrong wire (haven't disassembled it again to check).

I have not experienced any radio interference with the headlights on.

It's almost impossible to get all the WS out going by the drain and fill method. There will be residual left behind, aside from what's mixing with the Maxlife.

You just increase the Maxlife : WS ratio with each drain/fill.

Ha yeah it comes in handly at tailgating, outdoor concerts, hunting season, etc etc. The thing is I'm pretty happy with my truck and am "used to it" now, but then I see these pictures and am back to appreciating it.
