What did you do with your 4runner today?

Today, my rig got some well-deserved rest after a 1,000-mile trip this weekend around the Southeast. Pics (which I sure hope are attached lol... damn forum size requirements) are from an impromptu Lake Guntersville stop I made on my way home as the sun was setting.

I know this would be more fitting in a build thread, but so I don't have to answer any potential questions haha... I'm driving a 2007 Limited V8 4WD with 210k miles. Running Dobinsons MRA with 17x9 -38mm SCS Ray10s wrapped in 305/70 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. I've also put on DT LT headers and their catless midpipe as well as a handful of other mods.

Finally bit the bullet on a Luno Life Air mattress for the 4runner and it should be here by tomorrow!

Just bough 2008 sr5 V8, excellent condition! Spent the last 2 evenings after work detailing the interior and a few other small items. Trying to get rid of a drivers seat crunchy sound from the foam padding on the backrest! Jack was not secure and was flopping around making noise, other then that is sweet! Double din touchscreen install on the schedule for this weekend! Glad to join the 4runner nation!

Finally got around to doing the 06-09 grille and headlight conversion. Took a lot longer than I was anticipating, but so worth it. Looks like a completely different vehicle now!

I have a 2004. But I also want to swap the factory fogs with something better. Currently looking for something that would be plug and play to the existing fog harness, could fit inside the bumper and something with a black housing.

I went from some Cooper evolution MTs 295/70/17 to a 255/75/17 Kenda Klever AT2.
Since I am not going wheeling as much as I used to and this is also my daily I needed something a little more forgiving. The tall skinny tires are great on the road. Quieter, the ride is way smoother and I got my acceleration and braking back. I have also noticed cooler trans temperatures. I guess 15lbs per tire makes a big difference.
And now my wife enjoys driving my 4runner a lot more now lol.
The only thing that I dont like about these is that vanity aspect. Since they are not as beefy it will take time to get used to the looks. But its not too bad.

Ill post some pics once I get time.

Just got back from an amazing 1,500+ mile road trip, driving all 469 miles of the Blue Ridge Parkway plus Skyline Drive in Shenandoah NP. Loved it but will say that 90% of the Parkway’s “wow moments” are in North Carolina. Aside from a few interesting stops and overlooks, the stretch through Virginia looks like the rural Georgia roads I drive every day.

Did plugs today

2009 4Runner v6 with 168k. Plugs were overdue. Had Denso plugs all around so replaced with same. Lots of talk on this forum on iridium vs traditional. Honestly, the job is so easy I don’t mind changing every 30k. What an awesome motor. Purrs like a kitten. Posted pic of old vs new. Check out the gap difference.

I did something similar with my Tundra. I went from a 295/70/18 Ridge Grappler to a 275/70/18 KO2. Basically a 34/12.00 tire to a 33/11.00, 10 lbs less a tire, and about $100 less a tire. The Ridge Grapplers were pretty good, super stout tires but they are heavy. The butt dyno registered a big difference and my MPG is up a little more. We don't really get the Tundra in super rough offroad places anyway. The only difference I don't like is the look. The 275's look soooo small on there! The 295's were just about perfect, as far as looks is concerned.

This makes me miss the east coast (amongst other reasons to miss it)! I had a mildly built Sentra that was great on the drive until I overheated the brake fluid. Brake pedal went all the way to the floor in a hair-pin. Made it through: thank goodness for manual and heel-toe!

Yes everything works. The Tacoma/Tundra/4runner/Sequoia wheel has all the buttons on the right side that don't do anything in 4th gens but if you're smart enough you can probably hook them up to stuff if you wanted. I should actually look for a blank trim piece to clean mine up a bit.
