What is the highest quality cd format that can be played?

2011 TE with the JBL in dash cd changer system. I have a bunch of lossless audio files and I would like to know what is compatible as far as writing them to cd. Preferably I would like them to sound as good as the retail versions which I no longer have due to theft/loss.

Its been several years since I've burned a CD. I seem to recall doing them all in 320 with no issues, even on older equipment.

audio quality

I just run my phonograph turntable from under the seat (stealth install to keep those hip-hop scratchers from jackin' my shiz) to the AUX in. That way I have the best audio quality available.

In related news, I need more storage for my phonograph collection in my truck.

I have some that sort of live in the player. No issues with mp3 and wma. I burned them at the highest quality the software allowed.

Why not just put them on a huge thumb drive/hard drive and plug it in the USB in the glove box?

the highest quality mp3 that will play is 320 kps
in WAV. which is what an actual cd is is 1411 kps

so your best quality is WAV.

But if burnt from a mp3 to wav. is is pointless .

no flac won't play

just use an ipod or iphone and convert flac to apple lossless for the best quality or stck to regular old cd's

All of my Apple iTunes files are converted at 192 and put on a thumb drive in the glove box. They sound fine. With all of the variables at play inside a moving vehicle such as road noise, other cars, windows up and down etc. I doubt you will be able to tell the difference between 192 and Apple lossless on an iPod.

100% of my MP3 files are 320 kbps and they play just fine. Anything higher isn't supported by my iPod in the glovebox.

CDs you buy from the store are much higher quality than MP3s. However, if you're burning an MP3 to an audio CD, it's pointless (as someone mentioned before).
