What SUV other than a Runner

So, you win the lotto. After you buy two Runners from each generation and keep one mint and mod the hell out of the other one, what SUV would you go for next?

I really need a classic Landcruiser and a Hyundai Galloper (lived in Korea for 8 years and really developed a soft spot for them).

Taco, easily. if that doesn't count (I know, I know, not an SUV but my next choice after a T4R), then it would be a Land Cruiser...
 
Personally, I'd probably build something custom from the ground up myself. I like fabrication and general engineering. I'd probably do something cab over (maybe based on an older VW bus). I've also thought about taking a 4X4 Mitsubishi Fuso and building a camper on the back... I have a soft spot for cab over trucks.
 
I would go with the LC also. Had a couple of FJ 40s as you can see in my sig. They are more like Jeeps, classic Broncos, etc. Ride rough and not a lot of creature comforts. Definitely would want a newer LC. Another SUV is the Land Rover Defender 110. I believe they were imported for only one year, 1993. I remember test driving one at the dealership in Dallas; cool vehicle.
 
Not a Toyota.

For the street: Bowler EXR-S. I have been a passenger in one. I lost a filing after the ride at a test track.

For date night: Rover Evoque. Non Kardashian edition. It is a nice auto (2dr) but the 4door version looks like a glorified Escape.

Offroad: Mercedes Unimog.
 
LC seems like a popular choice among this crowd, lol!

I was reading motor trend over the weekend, and it looks like Porsche will be coming out with a turbo diesel version of the Cayanne, that sounds pretty alright.
 
I dig the FZJ80's a lot. My buddy has owned literally 10-20 of them (He's lost count). However it seems that EVERY one has had engine issues in one way or another. Most have had to have some major work done. Not nearly as dependable as the 2.7/3.4's on the 4Runners.

If I was going to go with another mid-sized SUV I'd get a J**P Rubicon. Yeah you heard me..!!!
 
The Evoque is a glorified Escape. It's actually more like a glorified Ford Focus, though. :lmao:
The Evoque is based on the LR2, which was based Ford's C ("compact")-Platform, and even has a Ford EcoBoost engine.

The Escape is tougher.

OP: I'd get a Rambo Lambo just for shts n giggles.

I'd love to have one of Icon's FJ44's or a Defender 110. Other than that I'd also love a classic FJ or LC.
 
Yeah Ive owned a 40 and 60 series LC and am over them. They look cool but drive like crap. Out of the box, a 3rd Gen 4runner is way more capable off-road and on road!

You read my mind. First truck I would buy would probably be a (ideally) Faded red RHD Canvas Top Series 2A Land Rover 88". Then a Mid 1980's Defender 110 with a 300tdi. Then an FJ40 with a diesel in it in that baby Blue (I've seen one). Hopefully I will have a variation of all of these vehicles at one point. I am not sure I would buy a non 3rd gen 4runner. But I do not think Rusty is my last 3rd gen 4runner!
