I bought the OBDLink LX and it works great. It only works with Android devices, but they have other (more expensive) versions that work with i-Devices (because Apple's bluetooth protocol sucks). I've checked out a few different mobile apps. DashCommand is my favorite so far, but it's $10. There's also Torque which I haven't used as much, but it's $5. OBDLink also has it's own free software which works ok (just not as pretty and convenient as DashCommand), but the dashboard is pretty customizable, it just takes a lot of effort to get it to the same caliber as the others.
