Whitewater 98 *college budget* Build Thread

I figured I might as well go ahead and start a build thread, and I use the term "build thread" very lightly here.

I'm a college student from Atlanta at the University of Alabama and I do a lot of whitewater kayaking all around the south east. I also have a co-op job in Atlanta, so all in all I put a LOT of highway miles on my 4runner.

Basically what I am going for with my 4runner is a good mix between utility (for hauling kayaks and people down backroads), reliability (for the countless highway miles), and fun (for the awesomeness).

Here is the list of all the current mods and odds and ends:
Moto Metal MO951 16x9 wheels
General Grabber AT2 285/70/R16
Yakima towers and bars
Bilstein 4600 HD shocks and struts
OME 891 Coils
Deck-plate mod
Borla Cat Back exhaust system
OL cb antenna mount with 3ft Firestick antenna
Some cheap CB and an old PA speaker a friend's dad gave me
Sony headunit
Weathertech floor mats
Husky trunk mat
Toolbox I made out of scrap plywood
Waterproof front seat covers (unsure of brand)
CBI Ditch Light brackets with Bean LED duallys

Lookin nice! How do you like the borla cat back exhaust? After finding out that's what the TRD system is (much cheaper from borla) I was tempted to get it.

The lights work great right there. Theres a tad bit of glare on the corners of the hood but nothing bothersome.

I'll post some more pictures of them and everything else when I get a chance to take some more.

Thanks! Honestly I think the Borla is the best feature about my runner. I dont know the difference in performance between it and the normal exhaust, but the sound is unbeatable. Not too loud, but just enough to give it an aggressive growl.

Alright went out tonight and took some light pics. Theres a ton of street lights in my neighborhood and I didnt feel like driving anywhere so my hood is lighted a little by one.

1: low beams
2: high beams
3: low beams with fog lights
4: high beams with fog lights
5: fog lights

sorry if I missed it, but who makes the brackets to hold those cowl LED's? How are they mounted? And whats the black stuff covering your pinch welds along the bottoms of the rockers?

They're CBI Ditch light brackets that mount on top of the hood hinges.

The black stuff on the rockers is a terrible spray bedliner job that I did a few years ago that I will be redoing soon.

Head unit, and CB... all my wires going in every direction (phone charger, ipod chord, aux cord, mic)

The mic fits nicely into an extra tray below my head unit.

Also the CB doesnt push the floor mat out like in the picture. I had just brushed it off and forgot to put it all the way back in

Forgot to list LED tail lights as one of my mods.

Pretty cheap off and easy mod but I think they look much better and they are MUCH brighter than the originals.
