Who do the cops call when they need help?

They drive the Volvo SUVs up here in Vail...I assume they are AWD. I guess they are trying to fit in with all the other wealthy folks...

Hmmm, anyone up that trail in a snowstorm is up to no good. Serve's him right for gettting stuck, probably smoking dope...or growing it...or maybe a commie prevert.

It is low, I think closer to 100. A friend said he hit it and then had a prius fly by him :rofl: as he was at the max. *I'm not saying 100 is slow or low, it is a crazy speed for most cars, and that is a big SUV, but given the rest of the market it seems slow*
 
I think the Tahoe's used to be limited to 98 mph, which is fast enough for those. They aren't pursuit vehicles.

The LE staff where I work drive Tahoe's, a few Jeep GC's mostly. Some Excursions, too. Now, some are starting to get Charger's.

What happened to the Explorers you guys used to drive up there? How do you guys plan to terrorize the poor cadets up there with equipment like that? :shrug:
 
I'm sure you've seen me. I knew there were a few other runners around. Just wasn't sure any were on the forum.

An Escape as a patrol car? Maybe that's fine for port police or customs or something, but general patrol?

Up here in Ontario, Canada, most police agencies have Crown Vics and Tahoes. Starting to see some of the new Explorers and Interceptors here (both AWD). Impalas never caught on.

Crazy thing is, when they get Tahoes, they buy 2WD ones... Go figure that one out! ;) We've had 4WD Yukons (now have an AWD - aargh) and those things are almost as good in the snow as our beloved 4Runners!

You're probably referring to the expeditions we used to have. Some of our less intelligent, usually younger troops rolled a few of them over, so they did away with them :(. The new interceptors work just fine in the cadet terrorization department ;)

The escapes actually do just fine for what we use them for. We usually only run one or two of them a shift, including k-9, just to run the checks that require awd. The interceptors are our primary patrol vehicles and are great since our highest speed limit is 45 and there really are no pursuits (we can just pop the barriers at the exterior gates and cage them in). The highest speeds we see are responding code 3 or to calls on I-25
