Install done
All done. Not too bad - 4 hrs. taking our time. Like any other mod, could be done easier next time.
Thanks to Harper for some hints getting the bumper cover off.
Lightwerkz, as expected, did a top quality retrofit - I did not even have to align the new lights! Buying the spares was the way to go too - (thanks T4Fun).
I am going to document the installation, but it'll take a little time to organize the pics for a new thread. A heads-up for anyone planning this project: download the pdf'd repair manual. And no, I don't have any nightime shots yet.
So now, to unwad toystry's panties, I spent within lunch money of $1K. This could have been for a few hundred less depending on components, but I went top shelf, with Bi-Xenons and Philips bulbs.
I think it looks great, eh?

4300K. I studied up on this, and 4300 is the nearest to natural light, plus it yields the most lumens. win-win imo.
Both the projector and reflector high beams are wired to come on together. Lightwerkz left a very nice pigtail with crimp connectors hanging out of the bi-x's, so it was fairly easy. I'll detail it in my write-up. I have upgraded halogens in my reflector HB's which are pretty white, so the two HB's together look pretty good. I have kick-ass high beams now. I am very happy with my choice of a bi-xenon projector.
You could install it either way.
No idea, but it sure looks good, and Lightwerkz knows their stuff, so I have no concern.

Last night's driving impressions
Holy Crap! These things rock!
The sharp cutoff takes a little getting used to. What impresses me is the beautiful white (not bright or glaring) light. 4300K is the right choice imo.... and the extra $ for Philips bulbs does not seem wasted.
Next is the wide beam spread. Just as a WAG, I'd say the useful lighted area in front of the truck has doubled. And it's a low, spread-out beam not unlike a fog light. The hot spots are at the cutoff but aimed away from oncoming traffic, toward the center of my lane.
I had expected to have to align them, but it doesn't look necessary.
It was raining last night, and my vision was nicely improved over halogen lights.
The high beams are great.
If I HAD to do this over for half-again more cost, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
This is interesting: I haven't told the wifey what I've been doing. She's not a "car person". I bought her a new CRV, I take care of it, and that's-that. So, last night as we're pulling out of our parking garage, she says "what were you and Nate (my son) doing today". I said "I put new headlights in my truck, what do you think of them?"
Get this; she said "wow, could I get those in my Honda?"

Cool been discussing with Caesar about this but forgot to ask about bi-xenon setup.
They came out great, can't wait to see the night shots.
I will look for your write up for the bi-xenon patch, thanks.

How much... PM if you need to. Also, are you certain they will work? I don't know diddly about full HID conversions.
