Why do I rarely see 5th gen advertisements?

Also a very rare sight where I am in my section of CT. I think I've only ever seen one other 5th gen and it's a LE. 4th gens are fairly abundant, but I see Land Rovers and oddly enough Sequoias more commonly. Actually was behind a 3rd gen once as well but they are pretty rare too. Guess CT residents are more into luxury features than what these vehicles were intended for - offroading. Not that there's really any place to do that around here :doh:

I'll give a friendly wave from time to time to another 5th gen but they usually look at me funny. .

Ever since the 5th gen came out I've yet to see a single TV commercial or any other advertisements for the 4runner, why is this? Is it selling that good to where they don't need to spend money on advertising?

My son asked me the same question before. My answer was "Toyota does not advertise 4Runner aggressively simply because there are limited target audience compared to other vehicles (e.g. Highlander, RAV4)".

I've seen more LE than SR5 out here in Greater Toronto Area (Canada). I've seen TE once and there is fellow member who owns TE (there might be more). In the street were I live, there are 3 LE! I'm the only one with SR5 (Canadian Upgrade Package).
