cool...yeah all the same mumbo jumbo guarantee, etc.....i wish i could get 20% but the cops around here in chicago are out to make some money and ticket quite a bit for tint!! 35% is legal.... just hope it doesnt look too light

I had mine done locally in Hartford, CT and paid $105 (with a coupon). So I think you are right in the ballpark as far as pricing goes. They used the same high end (guaranteed for life, blah, blah, blah) tint. I had mine done with 20% as I thought it looked much nicer than the awkward 35%.

Paid $139.99 for two front windows to be tinted 35%. Went with the 3M. For me 20% was too dark and don't want to get hasled by the cops. Also with the windows already having factory tint and having black interior it matched just right.

thanks for the feedback...i am hoping with the black interior it will be just right as well!! 100 bucks seems like a decent deal from a top shop in the chicagoland that does lambos, bentleys, etc!

Here's mine with a bath and new tint (3M Carbonite 35% [front sides $120] and Llumar Air Blue 80% [windshield $130])

Mine were tinted already when I bought vehicle. Tinted at port by Southeastern Toyota. I believe the fronts are not as dark as the rear. Sticker says "TWAS2 All State Window Tint"

I have to think that the "All State Window Tint" is a marketing strategy, as there is no such thing. There are a few states that do not allow any tinting of the front windows. Those that do require such a wide variety of light transmission ranges (from 24 to 70%) that to get something that meets all state's requirements would be tough. Now, how well the laws are enforced is a different subject. But, I've lived in places where they were.

To rebring up an old thread i am getting the itch to tint the fronts... anyone do this formula one besides SeattleMike (RIP)??? hoping for some advice.. got quoted 100 bucks to do the 2 fronts in the pinnacle formula one ceramic....

I had mine tinted to 15% with the pinnacle series that you are talking about. I paid $90 for the front two windows and a strip of 5% classic series across the front.

He asks me the year/make/model of my vehicle and his software selects the perfect match both color and light %.
It then sends a command to a cutting machine interfaced with his computer so when I arrive each window has been custom cut. Pricing has been $100 for both front windows on my last 3-4 cars.
Now, if I can just stop releasing my seat belt and letting it fly into the window tint.......

Wow that's a good price for laser cut film. Does he do clear bra's too?
And I thought I was the only one that happens to with the seatbelt thing.........

My goodness. I need to be tinting windows where you guys live. A small mid Georgia town wont allow for those kind of prices even though its worth it. When I have someone try to haggle me on the price I tell them that its about the same price as a tank of gas and lasts 100x as long. If you guys ever have any questions about tint, let me know, I may be able to help you out.

I'm getting mine done in the next few weeks. For everyone tinting the rears: Are you just tinting over the factory stuff or is there a way to remove it and start fresh?

You can't remove the factory rear tint. 99% of people tint over it

Tint over the rears, removed the port installed tint on the fronts and re-tinted. I went with 35% over the factory rears which are around 20%. I then went with 20% on the fronts. 20 is a little dark, but the sun here can be brutal and I spend 2 hours per day driving in it. See post 29 above for pics. I paid $250 for all of the windows.

Question: Should the tint be applied to the inside or outside? I've seen both but seems that inside would be more durable.

I need to get mine done and plan on them putting more on the moon roof. When I open the slider, it is so bright I have to close it. It makes using it and the moon roof in vent mode impossible.

All the tint Iv'e had done was applied to the inside of the windows, I would think the outside would get destroyed on the first trail.

I would research the moonroof thing, seems like I read somewhere that tinting the moonroof could cause it to shatter????? Just seems like i read that somewhere but may be BS.

Yeah, maybe re the tickets...but being sick of walking-up on low rider POS's when ya have no idea what's lurking inside might just have a little bit to do with it...just a little.

I only WISH we did MUCH stronger enforcement here in Denver. It's crazy-time out there on a number of fronts.

But that's just me. Don't get me started (unless it's too late).

Why wouldn't an officer order the occupants of a vehicle to roll all windows down or make them get out of the car if they were unsure of what's lurking inside? People with good intentions (like myself) would have no problem with complying or doing whatever it takes to make the officer feel at ease.
