YotaKyle's 3rd gen T4R build

YotaKyle, I want to say that I saw it here in Athens. I always keep an eye out for modded 4Runners. If you are around again it would be cool to meet up. Great build so far by the way, sub'd!

Athens, GA is a ways from Athens, AL...

Congrats on the 4Runner man! I'm in Middle Tennessee. Hopefully, we can do a big Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia get together sometime in Chattanooga at Coppinger Cove and Prentice Cooper State Forest!

I'm down for this too. Keep interest up by posting this in the "North Alabama/South Tennessee 4Runner Meet" thread. Yall Georgia boys are also included.

jpeaslee, didn't even think about Athens, Al. Not quite the same. If yall are ever in the TRUE Athens then it would be cool to meet up.

No OTREs?
Luckily the guy before me had just put new ones on...

Bad news, the four bolts that bolt the lbj onto the steering knuckle stripped...bad... hoping a tap will work because if not I'm screwed

A little more progress made. Lucked up and was successful on running a tap in the lbj to steering knucle holes!

Finally, all back together and time to put in the OME 906s followed by tundra 5100s and trd coils!

So I'm hoping to get in the rear billys and the 906 coils this week and begin the rear lift this weekend... while I'm back there I plan on replacing all bushings on the rear sway bars and end links.

Being the crazy ocd guy that I am there are a few leaks that are driving me nuts. The first is the valve cover gaskets. Luckily I have prior experience from doing this to a 1997 tacoma.

Does the Toyota rack have ITREs?

I put a stop leak for automatic transmissions in in January and it's holding up pretty well. It went from leaking pretty bad to not leaking at all, and now, it's starting to leak slowly (no drips when I park, but it id building up)

They do come with itre's. And yeah ILloyd be driving mine most in the fall in winter so I may use stop leak beginning October and hope I can hold out until next summer to replace it. What brand stop leak did you use? And did you flush your system or just add it to it? Chuckles89

It was this stuff. K & W Trans-X 2015 - Slip-Stop & Leak Fix | O'Reilly Auto Parts

I think I just emptied the reservoir, pored half the bottle in, and filled it up with some fresh ATF.

OME 906s with bilstein 5100 in the rear is complete! Waiting on the new front tundra 5100 series to start shipping mid August! Already got my order in!

Don't worry it gets easier the second time :becky:

I call BS. They were tough the first time, but I ended up clamping down hard with some channel locks and got them out. Uninstalling the Bilsteins for round two was WAY worse than getting the factory shocks off.

Also, stuffing those damn LC 7.5 wraps in there was exponentially harder until I got wise and realized I just needed to go ahead and drop both sides of the rear axle at the same time.

I've never worked with Bilsteins. When I replaced my KYB's with my LC shocks the KYB's came out super easy.

Yeah getting the LC coils in the back is kinda a challenge. If I decide to put the 861's in I don't know how I'm going to do it...
