I tought the problem was only with the IPod connector. Does it not come with the AUX connector as well? I really wanted to wanted to buy the 06 Ipod Scion HU, and use the AUX in the meantime while a solution comes up for the IPod connector. Does the 06 Scion HU with 1 knob, which includes the AUX connector, include the cable for AUX, or does that not work either?

I can only speak for myself - but I have a 2005 4Runner with a 06 Scion HU. It has an un-used connector on the back (12 pin I believe - I don't know where I got the 16 pin reference on the previous post) that I am told goes to the CD changer option. I have also been told that this connector contains the pins for the AUX-in. Presumably this would be signal and ground for both the R and L channels. The wiring harness that plugs into this connector is included in the 2006 Scions (and the AUX-in wires lead down to the arm rest), but it is not included with the 4Runners. I was hoping somebody could give me the pin numbers for the above connections and I am just going to solder them right to the pins and be done with it. I use a non-Ipod MP3 device so I have no need for the Ipod interface.

So I know this thread is pretty old, but leave it to me to jump on the band wagon late.
I purchased the premium scion radion, three knobs, T1806
I soon realized what I could have figured out, if I just would have read this thread, that's it not all plug and play.
Needless to say, I have all the wires necessary to connect an ipod to this radio and well as the aux port.
After an entire day battling with Toyota about thier Scion wiring harness, and them wanting $1500 for it, I went down to the local salvage/junk yard. There I found a brand new 2007 Tc, with the premium radio.
We opend the center console and pulled the AUX and IPOD harness apart forom the complete dash wiring harness. I paid $75 for both set of cables. The full set that runs from the center console to the back of the T1806 radio.
I went back to Toyota and picked up the Ipod adapter cable for $66, which connects the Ipod to the Scion iPod port.
So now all I have to do plug and play, which will take place on Saturday.
I currently have the old Scion radio (T1804), which I purchased to do a factory SAT setup. Now I will hopefuly have a factory AUX, SAT, and IPOD setup that will work with my steering wheel controls.
I will post picks of all the cables tonight for anyone that is interested.

Junk Yard cables
2K34R did a great job with the pics and all - I just wanted to let everyone know that I was also able to find the 2 cables from the HU to the in-car plug in for the ipod at a junk yard. I pulled it myself - it took me at least an hour and was a complete beating. The 35 degree temp and wet conditions didn't help. It made it all the sweeter when I was successful though. I couldn't believe it when I asked the owner how much I owed him, he said "Just have a nice day".
If anyone else attempts this, make sure you bring a knife, a screwdriver and something that can cut the plastic tie-downs.
I hate to pay toyota the $70 for the cable that goes to the ipod, but I may have to.

Hey guys,
This guy on ebay claims to have the radios with all the cables for the ipod setup.
Actually looking at the pictures closely, it seems that all the cables are in there.
Another member on here purchased this same unit from them, so he should have an update for us shortly.
the seller has another one for for sale, if you click on sellers other items.
the price is really good, considering it should include all the cables...
The part number on that package could be the end all to all of our worries.

I don't know if you know this, but you are going to need a total of three cables to get all the way from the radio to the Ipod. Maybe P/N PT546-21061 is the first two? I got all but the one that connects to the Ipod from a junk yard.

Yup again. Looks like I'll be taking a trip to the salvage yard. My Scion dealership figures the radio connection assembly is part of the wiring harness for the Scion so getting it separately is most likely impossible. Install will have to wait until I find a junked one.

Any Scion '06 or better will have the cable. I found a couple of TCs at a scrapyard that specializes in foriegn cars. If you plan on pulling it yourself, make sure you have a knife, some pliers and a screwdriver. Gloves wouldn't hurt either. You probably want to bring the cable that connects to the one you need because there are a bunch of harnesses/wires up in there and they all kinda look the same.
