The Air Suspension allows this vehicle to be lifted up to 11 1/2 inches (4 1/2 inches total travel from lowest to highest).
And it is trail rated.
Yeah, but at max lift, there is not gonna be much suspension travel!! :sobbing: The suspension control arms will be hanging low too...so, the ground clearance figures are only for down the middle of the car (as is the case for independent suspension).
Yup, it shares platform with the Mercedes ML. However, in the link above, Jeep claims that the Jeep GC was designed ALONGSIDE the ML and NOT based on the ML. Therefore, they may share very similar genetic makeup, but they are built to a different degree of stiffness, purpose, etc.. Jeep claims that the GC has a stiffer unibody than the ML. If this is true, then i am impress because Mercedes is pretty well-known for making super strong bodyshells...and to assume some more, i would think that the Jeep GC will be an extremely safe vehicle to be in.
All in all, after reading Jeep propaganda, i think that the Jeep GC will be an excellent vehicle for your average active customer (but obviously, not your hardcore off-roader)....IF (and a BIG "IF") reliability/durability is as good as Jeep claims.

Yes, it is obvious by looking at the people around the truck that the picture isn't level. I'm not sure who's fault that was or what the intent was but it does look like someone wanted to exaggerate what that image shows.
But these images still show that the JGC can at least do some modest offroading in stock form.

The JGC looks fine........ML (previous generation) based......the limited/overland will cost a pretty penny, $50K I think. For that kind of money, I'll stick to the CURRENT ML.
Point is: No doubt the new GC will be a fine SUV, but we've been down this road before.....after a couple/few years, the vehicle will fall apart. Historically speaking, Chrysler has been building garbage for the consumer for YEARS.............I don't care what it's based on, engines that will be offered will be mopar. The last great engine was the 4.0 I-6, everything else was just ok. I can speak from experience, had 4 grand cherokees and will NEVER go back.

Lets be specific here...
Your office has a fleet of the 2005-2010 JGCs at best.
The 2011 model hasn't been released yet so no one came say how it will fare. This is an all new vehicle that Chrylser/Jeep has put a lot of effort into getting right. To just automatically say that an American Car Company (Jeep/Chrysler) can not get it right and produce a great vehicle is stupid.

Taking Jeep's word that they've improved quality and actually seeing it are two different things and only time will tell but based on history I still wouldn't automatically feel good about buying a jeep product any time soon. I haven't seen a well built Jeep from the showroom floor in quite a long time so it is easy to presume quality might not be on par with most of their competition but let's see in 5 years and have a quality discusion.

Hmm, i wonder how the Jeep Wranglers are doing since 2007?? I know that Jeep put a lot effort in the Wrangler with the 2007 redesign. Does anyone have a copy of Consumer Reports and can look up the Jeep Wrangler??

I agree with you. The 2007-up Wranglers have a lot more electronics than before...this is why i wonder if Wrangler quality has gone downhill also?
