2014 Trail Rocker Trim

Best I have for now given bad weather in CO, if weather improves and I can get a close up I will. Have 2014+ front mud flaps and 2011 rear mud flaps, although not sure the rear flaps are on in this photo.

How long did it take you to remove your steps and LE trim and replace it w/ the trail trim? I'm trying to decide if I can do this after work before it gets dark or if I need to wait until the weekend.

Also, did you need jacks or anything?

You could get it done in a little over an hour. The other option would be to remove the steps and rockers one night then do the install another night.

Each side is held on with 4 or 5 bolts a couple screws and some clips. I took some pictures from when I switched mine out posted earlier in this thread. I believe the same bolts hold the running boards on.

Sorry I hadn't seen your posts, as IronmanK mentioned it's easy and goes fast. The only snag I hit was having to cannibalize a couple fasteners from the old rocker for the front mudflap since it is a 2014 flap going on a 2011, if you are doing that as well. It's very easy though, just wear eye protection when pulling off the old, I had so much dried dirt in there!

I saw throughout the post a few posts with part numbers? Do we have a definitive all parts needed list? Just bought a 2013 SR5 and I find the rockers hang down way to low for my liking.

It's all cosmetic, you could just take your existing off and get the clearance. The minimum to not look bare is the front caps and the trail rockers. I chose to add the mud flap as I wanted it and someone said it added to the stability of the front cap, I'm not sure that mattered. The rear piece is really just because it would line up a little better to the trail rocker,
Don't think anyone has actually gotten those.

There aren't really any other parts, bolts or clips as they come with the parts. Easy peasy.

Ordered parts to do the conversion and also having rear trim pieces painted. How much thickness does the fron mud flap/flare add to the inside? Running 285x65r18's and can't spare alot of room but a little.

Not much, just eyeballing I'd say 1/4 inch maybe... It looks like less than I've seen on other mudflaps so not sure if those were aftermarket or different model.

I've been getting a number of questions around this lately, as I was looking back the person that posted the original pics for trimming the front piece apparently was hosting their pics and now they are gone. I pulled my trim piece and while I don't remember exactly where I trimmed hopefully you folks can compare your uncut piece to my trimmed ones and it makes sense. Side note: I think only LE edition owners actually have to trim as [MENTION=112177]4RnR Grl[/MENTION] did not have to trim on her pre-14 SR5 so check before you cut!!! This is truly Antman quality but hopefully gives a good shot of where I trimmed. These are driver side... [MENTION=115334]Mistaken[/MENTION]

Sorry for photo whoring... just trying to help those that come along... this is installed with the 2014 trail mud flaps, they add an extra clip for more strength on the LE, per previous comments SR5 probably don't need.

The "Trail" trim is 10-13, the SR5 and Trail have the same rocker starting in 2014 just to clarify, but my understanding is that all of these are the same. I just used the part numbers in his thread and ordered from camelback Toyota's internet sales.

Haven't done the other molding, it's something i hardly ever notice, honestly it's been like this for like a year now and my wife hasn't even noticed either. I do think about it every now and then but have too many other things, if I didn't have to get it painted I probably would have ordered and done it already. There is still the door seal and there is a rubber flap that blocks that space so it's not as though it is fully open for mud/grime to get in.

I did this mod today and got it done in about an hour. I'm super happy with the results. Those SR5/Limited rockers are a joke. They are so big and bulky. Actually, my truck looks likes it's been lifted a little. I know this is just an optical illusion. I did this mainly I want a step of some sort and hacking up the factory rockers seemed pointless to me. Anyways, I'll post pics tomorrow once the sun comes back out. I did buy the 2014 + rear door flares and I should be getting those painted and installed next week so my install looks more complete.
