Not to mention, time and money! But hey, if you have the resources and you're handy with a grinder, cutter and welder you could easily do it yourself from what I've seen.

Actually if you look closely they did a terrible job of it. The fender trim is screwed on. With Philips head screws. Gear Shop didn't fit the 35s on it either, I think it was done by National before they got bought out by 4WP.

The guys on this forum that have done amazing things to their trucks and have a wealth of knowledge that others could benefit from really just come across as a bunch of snobby a-holes that have no intention of helping you.

I'd like to see where getting someone's hopes up that they MIGHT just be able to fit 35s on one of these things, or half ass it and cut up a perfectly good truck is a good idea. This isn't how do I put my KDSS back on after a lift thread, this is how to I make something fit that physically can't. It's not an easy task, easy on parts, or something you should do for looks; everything will suffer or have to be modified on the front end to get them to fit proper.

It's way easier to tell someone it can't be done and have them do their own research than to drum up every reason why they shouldn't and hope you convinced them.

35s are a terrible idea unless you are as dumb as me.

I never mentioned getting someone's hopes up. I agree, be honest. people should be able to be honest without sounding like a douche. Your response about 35s you just made was very reasonable.

Just saying as someone that is trying to learn on this forum it would be a lot more productive and informative to read what you just wrote about 35s than "if you have to ask, then no."

The easy way out for you would be to not have commented at all.

Read the entire thread again and see if there is not enough information for an intelligent person to grock the required info.

The forum does have a lot of fooling around and smart ass responses... but if you read all the responses there is usually pretty good information given. It just takes time for the smart ass responses to be balanced with the real information.

Better organization of the forum would help with the banter, but you still end up getting what you need.

Being a new guy, how would you propose to tell someone anything? Serious question here. The question the OP posed is fairly unique and requires extensive cutting and even more extensive mods. It is not for the faint of heart. It is definitely not a "first mod" for someone to attempt. People who can do and have the ability to do this mod wouldn't ask a general question like "How do I fit 35's" they would ask "Now that I have done "X, Y and Z I am having a hard time figuring out how to shove "AA" over to give me a bit more clearance." This is why they said if you asked that question then this mod probably wasn't for the OP.

Back to the question: How do you tell a new guy here about tire fitment? About waxes? About roof racks, wheels, seat covers, headlights, etc. They have been asked and answered in a clear and concise manner dozens, if not hundreds of times. We have stickies. We have FAQ's that would answer almost every question. We tell people to search to no avail. Nobody reads the stickies even though it says to read the stickies and FAQ's first. How would be a better way? I would like to know what you think. When I was a new guy here there were not a lot of questions that were answered yet so my experience is quite different than yours.

Lastly, it seems that people who have only been here for a short time don't quite get the heavy joking and sarcasm that is the norm here. It is not a bunch of old guys who have cliques. There are many "newer" guys that figured it out pretty quickly (and fit right in) and many older guys who have never (and never will) figure out the joking and constant banter. That's OK.

You had enough gumption to come here and call people who have answered questions many times and spent a lot of energy helping others "A$$HOLES." So I pose the question: How could it be a better experience for the new guy?
