4th Gen Build Thread Directory

Man, seeing some of the build threads on here is humbling. You guys have some seriously great talent for aftermarket modifications on a 4th gen.

If anyone wants to see mine, it's attached in my signature. Keep in mind this is a near 3-year "build" that is also my daily, and my first Toyota.

Hope it helps.

Can anyone help me figure out how to remove the left front fog light assembly from a 2007 4R without breaking something? I bought a new one as the original one got hit by a rock and busted. I see one bolt on the inner side of the assembly and I assume there are some clips, but I can't even tell what is what in there. I haven't been able to find any good pics showing how to do this anywhere. Help!!!

New to T4R. Got questions.

Is it worth to lift and do mods to my 05 T4R? Is a V6 2wd. I've talked to a few friends and they said is not but one of the reasons I like the vehicle is to have some cool mods on it. What you guys think?

Absolutely worth it. It is your truck so make it the way that makes you happy. That is what I did.

2wd Runners can still off road but you just need to take easier trails.

I started as a stock 05 2wd then started modding and during that did many off road adventures from easy to hard. This was taken climbing the waterfall in Big Bear while my Runner was still 2wd.

Now after the biggest mod I had done, my Runner is a custom twin stick 4wd.

Hello. I have a toyota fortuner 2003 model when it was bought the wires comming out of the ECU connector were cut and resoldered now i dont know which wire is loose because if the car goes into a bump or if you shake the wires the idling changes and it acts as if its miss firing , the car shakes and sometimes may even shutdown.

How do i diagnose the bunch of those wires ??
The car is haviing a 2TR-FE Engine

STAGE 1 of my build complete!
I have an '05 as well with a slight lift and an older bumper bar from that era with the light shrouds removed. I still think our front ends look a little doofy like they weren't sure what to do with the grill. That's why I keep my deer catcher on. That bumper and wheel combo helps, but maybe if I get headlights it would make it look less minivan like. Not knockin ya, I have the same issue.

Hey guys Matt in Texas, new boot here. There are some nice trucks on here! I got an 04 to use for shark fishing. I didnt see any racks on the market so of course we had to build one. Keep in mind it is just my beach vehicle but it fits the purpose and spends every weekend out doing its thing instead of getting groceries. We have other vehicles for that. Anyway, hope this gives someone else some inspiration if they are wondering how to fish from the 4runner like we do in Texas/Fla. I have a sissy bar for the back just didnt have it up at the moment.
