Hey Kego, don't take this stuff personally--guys don't always use a lot of tact, but the info they're giving is solid advice. Any of us with some years on have been in the same position before--you really like your vehicle, you really like the add-ons, and you figure to just add it all up in the sale price. The cruel reality is you usually eat your accessories' prices, and like others have mentioned, they may even cost you more money on the rig itself. People who wheel their 4Runners are in the extreme minority, therefore those who are willing to live with (and pay for) your add-ons are also in the extreme minority. That $15k would be an excellent deal if you can still get it--that will give you plenty to get started on a nice 4x4 model. Best of luck, friend!

The v8 and v6 have essentially the same transmission minus the tranny cooler from the factory though.

Comes down to the power (torque) to turn the larger tires, v8 has more then enough where as the v6 needs a little help by regearing, both need some extra strength to the tranny but not necessarily a new gear ratio for the v8. In my case, rpm's are essentially unchanged. With both front and rear aftermarket bumpers and 37/38's I would regear a v8, but not just for a larger tire.

It is def possible to run 38 inch tires on a 3rd gen 4rnr. 3inch suspension and 2inch body lift and cut away any body panels that rub. Be prepared to change MANY cv joints; or u could get shafts from RCV like I did.

That fj is ghey, its good for hard parking and mall crawling, but thats about It. To each is own though!

That Fj was done at a shop by my house.. Those were the same guys that wanted to charge me $700 in labor to install coils and shocks. They blow.

sounds like a very good deal, be sure to ask if the timing belt was changed, if it has not been you will need to use half of you 1500 bucks for that first off.

FYI.. I own 2 of them (03 V8s) and one is over 170 and the other over 160 with ZERO problems.

Sounds to me that he's getting ripped off, so congratulations:trophy: lol seriously I'm surprised he's paying you and trading his V8 4x4 for V6 4X2 that probably gets worse gas mileage because of the mods. And he's going from limited to SR5. Wow

Yea it has the timing belt changed..... It's really well maintained also... I'm using the 2grand for the fj lift and tires
