5th Gen Marker Lights in Grill

I followed the RCO method and link to add a fuse on amazon and I noticed the add a fuse from the link does not fit the fuse panel size fuses. What size do I need? Just want some input before ordering. Thanks.

Hi guys,
I like the look of these marker lights. I'm considering using possibly a few of them on each side next to my headlights as daytime running lights, to work like the DRL/turn signals on the 5th-gen 4Runners and 2nd-gen Tacoma's (examples below). However, I don't know how bright they actually are.

How visible are yours during the day compared to the ones on the 5th-gens and the second-gen tacomas like these below?
Do you think 2 of them on the left and two on the right would be as visible as those below?

The marker lights are very bright and visible. They are actually brighter than my amber turn signal lights.

I am relocating my front-facing bumper-mounted turns (first-gen) to the corner marker location. I want to maintain front-facing visibility and this seems to be a clean and inexpensive solution.

I think it looks better with 3 or 5. I installed 3 cause I think with 5 looks like I'm trying to hard, is a little more subtle with 3. Plus you can always install the additional two if you feel like it, but for me 3 was the winning number

Nice [MENTION=127657]codyHTX[/MENTION] I did the same trim for the flush mount. One of the easier mods.

I tapped the parking light wire for a little more control.

Man, I love this look.

I recently did this install. Purchased a 10 pack of amber marker lights off amazon for $10. I wired 2 to the low beam HID's and another 2 to the DRL so I have a pair on day and night. Thanks for the info and write ups for reference!

Used T taps on the headlight harnesses. The middle two come on with DRL (engine running) and the outer two come on with low beams. The H11 HID's were $50 shipped off DDM and required 5 minutes of extra connector customization.

Although mine isn't wired the exact same way (they are tied to a whole set of other lights and a 3-way switch and a relay); the write up from Rock Creek Overland is sound. I actually used their add-a-fuse location to do the relay that powers one pole of my 3-way switch.

I did use 1/4 plastic wire loom (Home Depot sells this as "flex conduit"). However, I would have preferred using the braided nylon. I just couldn't get my hands on it in time.

Grill Markers

Gah, so sick!! It looks so good man.

got my install done yesterday, combined [MENTION=57196]needsmoresalt[/MENTION] install using RCO's add a fuse method he posted earlier in this thread and parts of [MENTION=62757]chudiddy[/MENTION] install by shaving the light down around the ends, covering the excess with shrink wrap and installing from behind the grill through the slots.

note: using the RCO add-a-fuse method the lights are on when the key is in "ON" mode (not "ACC"), when the vehicle is started / remote-started, and when the parking brake is set (similar to the parking lights when p-brake is set - if parking/headlights are on).
they are independent of the light system all together, so even when the stalk is rotated to "OFF" they are still on. (this may matter to some who like to go full blackout-stalker mode when in that setting)

What size ozniums did you use?

I want to replace my eBay special marker, they keep burning out and are not very bright at all.

I did the 11mm bolts. Then I got some washers and painted them with rattle can bedliner. The washers grab onto the grill slots. My goal was to not modify the grill at all, but I did end up using a dremel on the back side to shave a little off. This was just for my own piece of mind as I wanted these to be a set and forget install.

I will try to get some closer pics this evening.

Definitely the 1W (the 3W is way to bright and only available in Stainless Steel).

These are the ones I got, but I have heard that it is better to go through oznium.com directly...

I do remember now that I used a plastic spacer in the middle to help line things up. I had these laying around. So, I unfortunately don't have a measurement on those.
