87 4 Runner Build

Dear 4 Runner:

I'm sorry for ever considering getting rid of you. You have been a loyal and faithful 4runner. You have taken care of me when we were miles and miles from civilization. You have held your ground and made it up obstacles when a non-believer (wife) didn't think you would be able to do it. You have put up with my abuse day in and day out without ever asking for anything in return. For this, I apologize. I will never think about leaving you for another 4runner ever again!

Sincerely,
Your Owner

Can you write me a similar letter for me?

Well, actually, maybe I need 2 letters?

The first needs to goto my Wife for spending time w/ my mistress all Saturday afternoon fondling her lovely curves as I gently and lovingly stroked her as I simultaneously caressed her lovely pale white skin with a beautifully foamy lather and soft towel. :boink:

The second to my mistress for cheating on her today with a 3rd-Gen 1999. I should've known from the start the date was going to go bad. She's been taken all around town by who knows how many others and while she cleaned up well I could honestly say that once I started to get inside her it went South quickly. I hurt my head getting in and found out she's not as accommodating as my original mistress. :dammit:

Here's the clincher, I get back to my office and have to witness the gardener having his way with my mistress abusing her and blowing all sorts of junk all over her skin.:banana::banana:

Oh, wait...

..we are still talking about vehicles, right? :biggrin2::frisky:

Dear Wife:

I have a confession to make. Last Saturday I went out with my mistress. I spent all day with her and did unspeakable things with her. We drank, we danced, and worst of all... we did the unimaginable. For that I am truly sorry. I hope that some day you can forgive my selfishness, next time I will invite you!

Dear mistress:

I have a confession to make. I cheated on you with another lady. Even though she is only 13, please don't think of me as a sick man. She never complains about how bumpy things get and she will never let me down when her oil is leaking. We have a new love that will never fade and I hope you can understand that. I hope that one day you and my wife can join us

I love what you do for me... TOYOTA!!

Dear Gardener:

You're fired!

LMAO! FWIW Wimpy's only 17. What's that say? :jaw drop:

The Wife wouldn't like the 13yr/old, she says the whole "Punk Rock/Shark Fin skin work is ugly. Ours has beautiful accents.". :D

Wife want's an AE-90 or X-50 thru X-80. (When we met the first time (dating others) I had my AE-86 HachiRoku, she loves the 80-Early 90's only. Heck, she'd take a 3.4 Swapped 1st Gen if I'd let her drive it because she loves the all black '87 down the street.

Man I love my ladies. ;)

Nice build! If you're thinking about lockers, you should seriously consider selectables, especially since you get snow. ARBs are awesome and you already have an air source. I had one in my truck with a 2" OME IFS lift and 32" AT tires and it was amazing where it would go.

I will be getting a high-pinion and ARB in my front axle very soon, money permitting. Can't wait. The other thing is, it can be very difficult to turn your wheels with a locked front. If you dont have a selectable locker, you might find yourself doing fifty-point turns occaisionally.

This wasn't exactly a planned thing but I tripped on an awesome set of Corbeau seats. I planned on getting some eventually but I got a set of seats for a price that I couldn't turn down. I got the Corbeau A4 seats with the brackets for a 1st gen 4runner for... well... let's say that I did better than if Corbeau had a buy one get one free sale. :trophy:

I also have a couple 5 point harnesses for the front and a couple 4 point harnesses for the back that I'll install after I get a roll cage. I'll need to get a 5th slot for the front seats though but that's on the list.

These seats are pretty firm but they are brand new. The guy just got them from Corbeau this week and didn't like them. They aren't even close to being broken in yet. I'll give it a few weeks of driving around and let them loosen up a bit. If they stay firm I'll sell them to some car guy and buy some PRP suspension seats or some other softer offroad type seat.

Dude, that's fantastic!

If I may be permitted to play vulture, what sort of shape are your old seats in? :D

The old seats are in decent condition but I'm going to hang onto them until I decide for 100% fact that I'm going to keep the corbeau seats. If I get rid of the stock seats then you're more than welcome to have them. Right now the Corbeau seats are a little firm but I only drove around the block. I need to drive more before I can really get a good opinion of them.

Get some dirt and mud on those things brochacho!! Those seats in you Runner kinda look like me sittin in church!

Seriously though, those are some pretty sweet seats.

Good luck in runner of the month! Voted for you, I like your truck alot

Thanks! I am very fond of my 4runner as well, it has came a LONG way since I first got it. It still has a long way to go as well, it's a continuous project that I don't think will ever end.

Thanks for the vote as well. But I think that Slacker has this, hands down. Both Slacker and Pyroboy's rigs beat mine with no contest in terms of effort put into them and the length they have gone into their build so far. KidV has a sweet runner too, his will be even better after he does his engine swap. :)

I just read through this whole thread... I'm sad!

I have been having project withdrawls lately. Hopefully soon I can get another one... then sell it a month later... or not!

My last 4runner sold me on the SC'd 3.4. That thing was pretty damn quick for a SUV.

My current dream is an 84-85 4runner, linked suspension with the works, 37's, SC'd 3.4 and all the off road goodies. I only about 20 grand to build it, anyone wanne gimme the cash?
