I got rear ended today on I5 south near Federal Way.

I'm fine.

Passing through admiring your truck and saw this^. Bummer man & don't think that this can be said enough but always a good day when you come out injury free. I grew up in Tacoma (hilltop to be specific where gangs & shootings were a regular part of the day walking to school as a kid in the late 80s ) so very familiar with federal way. The washington state 4runners always tend to get my attention.

That suck man... I am glad you are okay. I am constantly driving between Seattle>Kent>&Tacoma. Something about that road that makes bad drivers wanna mess with their friggin phones or generally become involved in some other head-drama that distracts them from the task at hand.

I am still sorting out crap from when I was rear ended on 06/15 on just north of Seattle. My truck is mostly sorted, except for the rear trailer hitch they don't make anymore. But I just started my PT today. I will keep an eye out for your rig on my travels up and down five.

Yeah, injury free and with enough money to get it back to where it needs to be. Cannot complain.

The Hilltop area is still rough, but nowhere near what it was, from what I hear. I had a friend go to the Tacoma Mall on a rainy day with his family (older guy with older "kids") and he was told they could walk in groups of more than 3. Sketchy.

Yeah, that stretch of road is nuts. Whenever I head home to Oregon it almost ALWAYS takes me 2 hours to get from the Renton area to Olympia. The slowdown through Federal Way to the Tacoma Dome is just unreal. I've been waiting for this day. Glad it was the one time my wife/dogs were not with me.

If you see me on the road you'll probably see my little white 86 pickup. I try not to drive the runner unless we're headed out of town.

As for the trailer hitch... I'd be shocked if [MENTION=78895]DeathCougar[/MENTION] didn't have on laying around. He's up in Marysville.

Insurance did it's insurance thing, and the bumper has been ordered, as mentioned last week.

Here's some pictures... Long story short, I was stopped in traffic for a good 5-10 seconds and was struck from behind. It didn't feel very hard at all, so I was actually pretty worried that something had just broken, but then I saw the truck behind/under me.

Got out, shook his hand/made sure he was okay, took some pics of license, insurance, damage, and had him call me so I had his number. Hopped in, and off I went.

At first glance, bumper looks fine. Honestly still not sure where he hit me. I THINK the jack was the impact point? No way of knowing.

This side still looks pretty straight. Maybe a slightly larger gap toward the front. Very slight.

This side has a very obvious twist to it. Notably larger gap in the front, and considerably larger than the driver side. This is why the bumper was replaced.

For body work... On impact, the bumper contacted the body and chipped some paint. Very very small dent, and no buckling of the panel. Thank God. Going to have it repainted from that body line down. Same damage to both sides.

His truck... Was a pretty clean little truck, obviously well maintained. At first glance (from the front) damage didn't seem too bad. Broken grill and bug guard. However, from the side or an angle you can see that the whole front end was twisted up, and the hood buckled.

All in all, no hard feelings toward the kid. Mistakes were made, and made right via proper insurance coverage.

Lake Cle Elum

Went out Saturday with [MENTION=82154]GSPRunner[/MENTION] to Lake Cle Elum to get some sun, let the dogs swim, and get away from the city.

Not much "wheeling" but I did accidently find some mud in the "dry" lake bed. Yuck. Sticky, slippery, and no fun.

i love my 861s they are amazing! they hold weight amazingly well, almost defying logic when you ride in the vehicle and the ride is not harsh at all, and its not all jacked up when "light" . the height really doesnt change much between light and loaded for me -though i do have air bags, but i have never had to put more than like 8psi in them and that was for towing...

As some of you probably know, I won that CVT photo contest which was SUPPOSED to be for $200. However, once I let Bobby @ CVT know my intention of buying the 79" awning with it, he just gave me it for free ($300 value) and also gave me a couple of sweet camp chairs.

SO on my way home from my Brother's wedding in Bend I stopped by the CVT warehouse and grabbed the awning and chairs before heading back to Seattle by way of 97. Outside of Moro, OR I saw this silo thing and decided to snap a few photos...

Pulled a rear 4.30 elocker diff last night in the gravel, in the dark. RIP to my elbows and knees.

Pulled my rear 4.10 elocker diff.

My 4.10 diff turned out to be a 4.30.

Lesson learned- every single list of "codes" for 3rd gens is incorrect, and you need to do the spin test to save yourself hours of labor.
