Another Bilstein 5100 question

I can't seem to find a straight answer to the caster issue. So it sounds like if you lift the front 2.5 and use stock UCA's it will wander a bit on the freeway. I would assume 1.75 setting would wander less on stock UCA's?

Yes but it depends on the vehicle. Mine is fine at 2.5 and stock uca while yours may not be.

Quick question:

Installing 5100’s on all four and purchased RCC2.0 toy tech super flex rear coils. What should I set the front height to for a mostly level look.

Thoughts?

I guess I would have the roll the dice and possibly have it work out or lower it/buy ucas huh?

Mine was "ok" but not great. With 2.5" front lift and stock UCA's it felt like I was always correcting on the freeway. I ended up buying JBA uca's and installing them myself and having the truck aligned again. Now it drives dead straight and feels way better. Most Tacomas and 4Runners benefit from UCA's when lifted. I'd recommend spending the additional $400-$500 up front and have it done with the lift. My .02

This. Yeah mine is fine but it does wander a little bit on the highway. I don't really notice it but my son drove me home from a brewery one day said it is twitchy. I must be used to it. All in all I will put some aftermarket UCA one day soon.

Hmm I may just stick with 1.75/1.5 for now and save up for UCAs. My girl would probably not appreciate a compromised highway drive feel. Thanks for the info guys!

I'd leave them on the lowest setting and use a 2.5" lifted coil spring. Probably because thats what I did.

2.5/1.5 is where its at!

Any wheel spacers?

How high should I go?

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Bilstein 5100 set up with the 1" Cornfed spacer in the back. I will eventually put my winch on along with a Southern Style Offroad bumper. I like the look of the 1.75" in the front and 1" spacer in the rear, but I do not know how much a winch and bumper will make the front end drop.

Any info or suggestions?

May look into the Dobinson spring route with the 5100s. I'm definitely no expert but here is the setup that others are using:

Dobinson

Front:
C59-300 - Stock front end load, 1.75" lift. 385/385mm, 17mm wire, 586LB

or

C59-302 - 100-220LBS heavy load front weight, 2" lift. 395/395mm, 17mm wire, 586LB

Rear:
C59-599 - Stock rear end, 1.0" lift (keeps rear end low, allowing to level the vehicle rake with 2" front lift). 390/390mm, 17mm wire, 220LB

or

C59-505 - Stock rear end load, 1.25 to 1.5" lift. 405/405mm, 17mm wire, 220LB

You can always email them as well.

So I've read through this thread for a total of about 2 times and it's all starting to look the same.

I have a 2018 Off Road (Canadian). As it stand now, I won't be doing any "crazy" off roading with it. So I'd like to keep it daily driver friendly with the occasional muddy days. This may change in the future after I get taste for it, but for now this is it.

Parts that are ordered

3/4 front runner rack
Tepui Kukenam3
wheels
285/70/17 Toyo ATII's
Bilstein 5100's
1.5" Cornfed

I may in the future add a C4 LoPro bumper.

My dilemma is.. should I add the 1.5 cornfed spacers or get new springs for all 4 corners. I've always looked at spacers like cutting corners (no offence to anyone that looks at it differently).

Original plan is 2.5 in the front and 1.5 in the rear.

If I were to go the spring route instead of the spacer, what would you guys suggest?

My parts guy has access to OME, Eibach and a few others.

Thanks in Advance.

Am also interested in this set up with 5100

Fronts: C59-300 - Stock front end load, 1.75" lift. 385/385mm, 17mm wire, 586LB

Rear: C59-599 - Stock rear end, 1.0" lift (keeps rear end low, allowing to level the vehicle rake with 2" front lift). 390/390mm, 17mm wire, 220LB

Anyone with pics and input on how it is compared to stock?

Since this thread is about 5100s, whats's the best price you guys have seen lately for these and from where? I'm finding about $350 including shipping for the set (I can save money by using an Amazon seller that doesn't charge tax), but is there some other place running a deal right now?

My set of 5100's are on the way, bought them last Friday when eBay was doing a 20% off deal. I think I wound up paying $282 shipped for them.

This doesn't help you much I know, but it seems about $350 is about where the bottom is unless you catch a sale. You can always try your luck at some make offer auctions on eBay.

Yeah I saw that post about the 20% off deal right after it had expired, so I was pretty bummed!

Used that and paid $287 for mine on Friday as well. Just got notified they shipped. Ordering Dobinson 300/599 springs to go with them.
