Another Bilstein 5100 question

I am newb to all things suspension and I have searched and read through all bilstein 5100 threads but haven’t found my answer yet...

I am wanting to set the front at 1.75, but I do not want the approx 1.5” rake that’s left 1” rear spacers. I prefer a more leveled look and I do not haul or tow often. I know leaving the rear stock would give me slight negative rake which I do not want either.

Question is: has anybody done the front at 1.75 with 3/4” rear spacers? I have emailed to cornfed to see if this is something they can make but I’d like opinions here.

I’m probably overthinking this and should go with the .85 setting but I’m wanting the extra lift.

spacer difference

I have a couple questions myself about 5100s.

first, will max settings affect the drive of the vehicle or the longevity of parts as compared to the second highest setting?

also, Im really trying to decide between the 1" and 1.5" spacer for the rear w/ 5100s. any pics that I could use to compare the heights would be greatly appreciated

If I went with 1" it would be 1.75F and if 1.5" it would be 2.5F

Because I understand the rake is still near stock at approx 1.5” with that setup. I have seen all the photos and prefer a little bit more of a level look. I admitted I’m probably overthinking it. I’m thinking the half inch difference in a 3/4” and 1” rear will give me what I’m looking for but it’s good to get feedback when your completely new to it all

.85 front, no spacer rear. Nearly level. Anything else will almost perfectly level it until you add passengers, groceries, or anything tangible in weight.

To each his own; you are more than welcome to try/do it.... But I'm telling you, somethings not right with that. Either he isn't on the highest setting, or something else is going on. TONS of us have all done this mod, and you WILL HAVE NEGATIVE rake with that setup. Heck, there is approx 1/4 inch negative rake at the 1.75 front setting and nothing in the rear (tho the fenders will look level).

The pics below are 1.75 front (which is NOT the highest setting) and stock rear... And it's level to the eye, but slight negative frame rake.

Again, do as you please, it's your rig, your time, your money. But with a completely stock 4Runner, 5100s at all four corners, and the fronts set to the highest, you will not be level.



I have 5100’s all around and only set to .85 up front and still have reverse rake in the back. Agreed that somethings not right.

Did you read through this entire thread or do some google searching? There are a ton of pics out there with many variations. You’re probably not getting a response because this has been covered to death...and I reiterated the facts again above.

I’m just not sure what else you’re looking for.

What is everyone paying to get the 5100s installed? Most local shops won't install customer supplied parts. I had 2 shops that will....one quoted $1000 and the other $350, but the cheaper one isn't capable of doing an alignment; so I'd have to get that done elsewhere for an added cost obviously.

It's honestly an extremely easy install, I would recommend doing it yourself if you have any mechanical abilities. I was quoted between 300 and 400 + alignment in KC. I installed myself and had the alignment done at Toyota.

I’m getting quotes around here for 400-500+alignment as well. Dealer quoted something around 550+alignment.

I’d do it myself if I had the tools.

I was quoted 640 to install shocks, replace UCA and rear springs. That also includes alignment.
 
I’ve read all 53 pages of this thread and don’t think I’ve seen one TRD PRO do any of these lifts? Anybody with PROs do any of these? More specially 1.75/1?

That would actually be quite the downgrade for a PRO to replace a $1,500 6112/5160 suspension with a $300 5100 set-up. Since you already have a one inch lift up front, you'll want something like this for the front to go with your 1 inch spacer in the back for an equivalent 1.75"/1" combo. https://wheelersoffroad.com/i-30057...t-lift-enhancer-kit.html?ref=category:1389058

Would something like the Cornfed 1 rear and 1.5-1.75 front Work with the pro while keeping all parts stock?
 
1/2" tall spacer provides about 3/4" lift. Since you already have a 1" front lift with the PRO stock, you want something smaller, like suggested above to net a 1.75" lift.

1" stock + 3/4" lift spacer = 1.75" lift. 1" stock + 1.5" lift spacer = 2.5" lift.
